When you get a ticket online you get an email with directions and a code or something along those lines, seems more fair

Near impossible to compile a set list that's perfect without leaving stuff out. I'll give it a go anyways.

    [Ecstasy of gold]
    1.Creeping Death
    2.For Whom The Bell Tolls
    3.Mercyful Fate Medley
    4.Orion
    5.Don't Tread On Me
    6.Shortest Straw
    7.New Song
    8.Ain't My Bitch
    9.Phantom Lord
    10.Disposable Heroes
    11.Hero of the Day
    12.My Friend Of Misery
    13.Whiplash
    14.The Frayed Ends Of Sanity
    15.Leper Messiah

    16.Battery
    17.Bad Seed
    18.My Apocalypse

Rehashing the same auld stuff year after year. "Die! Die! Die!". I'm 37 almost, and the Die! Die! chants got old for me in 1995 or thereabouts. I've seen them play these live a few times, I've seen countless live videos of them playing those live. Again and again and again.

I'm 39 and i ****ing love the Die! Die! chants, one of the highlights of any Metallica show imo. This stills sends shivers down my spine 6 and a half years on.

I'd love to hear The Call Of Ktulu actually - WITH the orchestration.

I've loved Ain't My Bitch since the Point show in '96,it rocked live. Not sure why i have a soft spot for Bad Seed, maybe it's because of the intro to the Cunning Stunts dvd or i just like it. At least it rocks along,i've no time for Ronnie or Mama Said, they should be consigned to the history books imo.

They played it at Knebworth in 2011(without Orchestra obv.) and it was savage, bum notes aside.

I can't believe 2 people going to Knebworth voted for Poor Twisted Me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,228 ✭✭✭Acidflash

Prague looks decent at the moment, few songs there i wouldn't mind seeing live.

    The Frayed Ends of Sanity
    To Live Is To Die
    Orion
    The Outlaw Torn
    Dyers Eve
    Creeping Death
    Master of Puppets
    Fixxxer
    Battery
    The Unnamed Feeling
    I Disappear
    For Whom the Bell Tolls
    Trapped Under Ice
    The Unforgiven II
    Human
    Until It Sleeps
    The Call of Ktulu

Vienna isn't bad either. The rest I could leave, surprised at the amount of votes for whiskey in the jar at the 4 others though.

Seen that yesterday myself, massively disappointed, as I was checking regularly for a Dublin announcement.

Was dying for a good gig to go to next summer after going to feck all this year. Seen them 4 times already but still, the fact you can vote on songs makes it even better. Plus they always bring brilliant supporting bands too.

Annoys me that the UK get a show and we don't. Won't blame the band as I'd imagine their management handle all this stuff.

Don't think I can get the money to make the show in the UK. Kicking myself for not making the Download Black album anniversary gig last year. :(

Frayed Ends live has to happen this year. I just wonder if they can still play it with the intensity the recorded version has. And by 'they' I mean Kirk and Lars.

Like it or not, Metallica have pretty much crystallised into what they're going to be until they stop. One thing that they're not going to be is the band who's going to 'take a moment to slow things down' and dig out the acoustic guitar so, no, I don't think Mama Said will ever come back into their rotation. Would they ever do it as a once off? That's something that can never be ruled out. Should they be allowed to retire on their own terms, they might do something extra special like play every album in it's entirety and we'd hear it then. We can only hope.

i would disagree with that...er..sorry Edit...i would say they'd have no issue with playing mama said on rotation as they've always had that atitdude of doing what they want

What they seem to want to do these days is be a crowd pleasing act, Lulu aside, although they weren't touring that so it's moot. Mama Said's not a song that's going to energise a crowd that's thousands strong so it would get left off mainly for that reason, I think.

yes but this tour is different

It is but you still need the hunger out there for certain underplayed songs off of Load to get it on the list.
