Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I actually hadn't thought about it until I read his post but now that I think of it, it might be true.

If they take as long between this one and the next as they did between DM and this one, it'll be 2024 or something before that one's ready to come out and God only knows what way the music industry will be then and whether bands will still actually be releasing albums as we know them now.

Ant I reckon Metallica will be full on nostalgia mode and by then and milking every last dollar out of touring or playing 6 month residencies at casinos in Las Vegas (finishing the set each night with Nothing Else Matters followed by Enter Sandman of course).

Well if it were to be their last album, would anyone hold it against them? They could definitely ride off knowing what they achieved in their career, seen it all, done it all..

I had to rethink as well, 8 years between albums is a bit much, and social media doesn't exactly help either, I think the music industry as we know it, or the remnants of it will be long gone by 2024, everything will be available by streaming & downloads, which is a shame really, but that's for another day, and another thread.. Or they could drop the whole making albums, and go the Down route of releasing an EP every couple of years..

I'm listening to metallica since 1987, I literally grew up with them, anyone else?

Just curious, what makes you think this will be Metallica's final album?? Would be cool to see them do a few shows in Dublin either this year or early 2017.

a few 3arena shows would be cool not that bloddy marlay park again.

Guns N Roses Croke park and Metallica Aviva Stadium would be a cool summer 2017

I discovered them when St. Anger was released 13 years ago.. A friend played me the title track of said album, wasn't too impressed, quickly moved on, then found Puppets in '06, the rest is history.

They could easily do a few nights in The O2, though their stage pro would have to be scaled down..

I was gonna say a Metallica/GN'R show, but the last time they toured together, wasn't exactly a fun ride, that said if it were to happen, Metallica would definitely be the headliner.

Same here, 'cept I thought St. Anger was the ****ing greatest thing I'd ever heard. Then I heard the 1st 5 albums and hated St Anger haha. Now I love it again.

A morbid thought I found on metallicabb.com, but I'd definitely cry if one of them were to pass away, I've grown up with them as my heroes and it'd almost be like losing someone I know.

Hetfield's voice sounds great! Guess if they're recording his voice is bound to be in good shape.

I'm surprised to see posters discovering metallica from St Anger. Nice to see, I'd say puppets blew the head of ya when you heard it first!

    Real metal

Whiskey in the Jar is how I found them. Finding a better version of a trad song, just what led teenage me to them. Embarrassingly though, I went out and bought all their albums I could find, except MOP. Have to admit I genuinely never knew MOP existed until i saw them live and saw them playing what I thought were new songs.

    Teenage me was an idiot

First album I ever bought, and the last metallica concert I was at was the mop anniversary concert where they played it in full.

They always take an age. There's a European store too, but they don't have the really cool stuff the U.S. site offers sadly. You should have them next week I'd imagine

yeah, i didn't mind paying the $32 for a good quality shirt, that's around 28euro, but add another 15 on and 43euro for a t-shirt, ouch

You could make your own shirt for a fraction of that and it would probably still be better quality than most of the band tees you'd get.

Got caught for the same thing when I ordered a white And Justice for All t-shirt that I got something of a hard on for haha...I wasn't at home so I had to collect it up at the post office, I tell myself it was worth it because a full on white Justice for All t-shirt is hard to get!

Kill Em All and Ride the Lightning remaster?! Yes Please. Tempted by the boxsets but they are $149 each. Now to start praying the dollar goes down in value :P

Whatever about KEM, but RTL could do with the treatment!
I wouldn't mind, but I'm STILL waiting for my vinyl copies of KEM, RTL and AJFA from the Met store. :(
