Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I had stopped buying any Metallica merchandise and stopped following their music after Lars Ulrich had used the power of the legal system to fight Napster's users who shared Metallica's music. To do this to Metallica's own fans was extremely stupid and very rude.
I never understood reactions like this.. Napster was back then company which tried to make revenue without paying anything to artists.

The only way you'd get me to Slane would be a double header with Maiden (I know it would never happen but one can dream!).

    Link?

It's all over the Metallica boards and places like Metal Ireland. Someone said it's was mentioned on Radio Nova too

The price of Hotels near Slane for the 8th June are through the roof, so something must be going on that day

What hotels are these by the way? There is only one (small) hotel in Slane and after that you’re onto Drogheda or Navan.

There is nothing concrete on Metal Ireland, just the same sort of ****e that's written here.

If anything it's being ridiculed over there.

Out of curiosity I went onto Agodo to check hotel prices/availability and there is no difference in prices between Saturday June 1st and Saturday June 8th

    Amazing gig

Seen some footage, heard the stories, people enjoyed it but some how don't feel I missed out, I'm getting old

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,150 ✭✭✭✭Ash.J.Williams

Metallica have never played more than 40000 here and judas priest and ghost would add a grand total of zero to the numbers so unless they add Nathan Carter to the bill I'd be suspicious

I shared this on the other thread ..

    and it is 100% true.

I love how everyone seems to be glass half-full people, every venue suggested that Metallica are going to be playing next summer brings scorn; some people say no chance, others say BS...they have to be playing somewhere! The official announcement of Metallica's European Tour is rumoured to be on Monday 3rd September, so we'll find out soon enough and then we can get on with getting our tickets! (and moaning about the price of them etc...)

This is a Metallica thread, Metallica are coming to Ireland next Summer, be happy, people!

I'd go any where but Croker might be a showstopper for me..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,658 ✭✭✭✭greenspurs

IF they are coming ...... GREAT !!!

If you don't "like" the venue, DONT GO THEN !!!!

If they are coming, I will go. I don't care about the venue, as long as get tickets (which , no doubt will be very expensive).... because I'm a fan of their music.......

If you wont go to see a band because you don't 'like' the venue ?!??!!? You wont be missed...

i'm just saying, croke park is a venue geared more towards the promoter than the fans..

They haven't been here since 09 so I'd go anywhere to see them.
