Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Seattle '89 on CD. Can't wait!

already got it and on mp3, amazing stuff

Take this how you will, Maiden and Metallica will be headlining Download next year.

Maiden will be doing the festival circuit to recover costs from the indoor tour they just did, apparently it barely broke even, then they'll be going into studio to record their last studio album.

Metallica will be doing a 2wk stint of outdoor Euro shows and Slane will be one of the shows, they'll be bringing quite a few Download bands to sell tickets

Many bothans died to bring me this information

Think about it, touring festival circuit next year, 6-12 month break, 6 months or so to record album, that's looking like a release of mid 2021, a 2yr world tour takes them up to 2023, sounds about right

They are to play Nebraska tomorrow night, maybe Turn the Page will be on the setlist, since Omaha is mentioned.

As for the doodle bit in the set? Who's famous and from Nebraska?

    So a guess then?

Was the tour barely breaking even a guess too?

Hopefully they bring over worthwhile support but i can see them bringing newer bands to try the teens going

Love myself to see a support bill of Ghost, AIC, Volbeat and Dragonforce

I would love if it were true. but there's no way that Metallica would sell out Slane unless Coldplay AND Abba were supporting them.

Far more likely that someone like Cattle Decapitation will headline Slane 2019! :)

just listening to jason auditioning master of puppets, obviously they had rough few months prior to that day, but Jason is TIGHT AS F***k...

We all love cliff but tight he was not, James is fierce tight...therefore i conclude james acted like he hated jason cause he secretly wanted to marry him.

(bit too eager on seek and destroy)

Great to see the radio edits included.
Shame about the lack of a bass-resolving remix. It wouldn't have to replace the original, maybe complement it.

Watched Some Kind of Monster there over the weekend again, and noticed something Kirk said, that I hadn't really picked up on before.

Basically, he was dead set against the album not having solos on it. Like he didn't want every song to have solos. But he felt, not having solos on the album, dated the album to that period. It wouldn't remain timeless. And it would also pigeon hole in the album with other musical trends that were emerging at that time.

    How right he was.

skom was a very revealing documentary, i certainly wouldnt like a camera crew sitting in my counselling sessions, then releasing it for the world to watch

I thought it was a great documentary, a very hard watch though, must have been agony wondering if James was ever coming back to the band.

Apparently though the Lars and Dave meeting had a chunk of footage edited out where Lars was in tears, over Dave's issues and everything he had to deal with in his head after being fired, I also know that when that footage was shot it was 2 days after 9/11 and there was a certain amount of tension in the room over that and it was also Dave Mustaine's 40th birthday the same day, I'd imagine it was the last place Dave wanted to be after that atrocity happening.
