Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can't really see there being 2 Slane concerts. Unless it's an absolutely huge name Slane relies on people going just because "It's Slane" to bulk up the numbers - ie taking it from 60k to nearer to 80k. Having two concerts would make it too expensive for these people and make it difficult for Metallica to even hit 60k

Just my opinion of course. Still think Aviva far better option for them!

Couple papers going with it now too. Guess we owe someone an apology in this thread.

Not a fan of slane but delighted they are coming and hopefully will be a big show with good support.

It's the f***ING SUN for Christ's sake. That article looks like it was thrown together by someone getting bits of old stories from all over the place!? I've seen some of the "quotes" in other articles.

Legendary LA metal heads Metallica are expected to be announced as the headline act for a major gig next summer at Slane Castle.

LA? Do journalists do any work anymore like.

The sound for Gun n Roses was perfect.

Hate Slane but ill go for Metallica. Think I'll look into seeing them in Europe somewhere too, they don't come around often these days.

the sound in slane truly depends where you are in the venue and on variables such as the wind etc, it can easily go wrong for you. ive had enough of outdoor gigs because of this, i may have to look at also going into europe to see them

Yeah fair, i was pretty much in front of the speakers by the sound desk so maybe I got lucky.
Went to see Metallica in London last year so looking forward to a big outdoor show this time around.

Well they did start in LA, before relocating after Ron left, so they got the basic bit right... they just didn't read further down the Wikipedia page!

The Slane news is a bummer - I was hoping for a proper stadium gig - as it's a hole to get in and out of, but it's Metallica so it'll have to be done!

Seems a lot of people are talking about it and it could sell well

Hoping for a strong support bill

Delighted, it will be a great occasion hopefully.

Good stuff, I love Slane, it's great once you're there, but they could do more in regards to toilet facilities, when I was at the Foo Fighters, it was bucketing down rain and blokes were pissing anywhere to not queue for the piss troffs. Rain and piss puddles everywhere!

But I'll happily go for the Metallica experience. 5th time to see them.
