Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi all, basic question here. Just about to upgrade my MS Office from 2003 to 2007. whats the difference between professional and standard? Also do I just install it and leave 2003 installed or uninstall 2003. What happens ot everything I have saved in 2003? Can I still access them after 2007 installed?

professional contains more applications then standard. (publisher / access etc)

    Check the difference HERE

And 2007 is backwards compatible with 2003 so you will not have any problems accessing them. Saying that, I have come across some issues with macros etc. that were set up in 2003 that will not work in 2007.

Finally imo, never upgrade an office package. Uninstall the old one and then install the new one. That's just my feelings on it because I've ran into issues before but the choice is yours.

On the other hand, Office 2010 is almost on the shelf, so wait for it or make sure that your vendor is offering a free upgrade to 2010.

Don't, Office 2007 is absolutely fcuked up.

The only useful extra in professional is MS Access. Theres some other junk in there too, but nothing worth the effort / cost.

Hi anamcarame, I would recommend you launch the installer for 2007 and select 'Upgrade'. This will upgrade any 2003 versions to the 2007 version. If your 2003 suite contains a surplus of applications, they will be left behind.

All files will open in the new version, as they are backward compatible.

By the way, Office 2010 has released.

2010 is nearly here - I recently dealt with a 2010 beta version but didnt have time to play around - I look forward to seeing the real "benefits". The fact that 2003 was not automatically compatible with 2007 was a boo-boo (although it was a good source of call outs for me)

In general I wasnt all that impressed with 2007... especially outlook - I felt it was v bloated and supporting any user with significant PST file size was frustrating and slow....

I'm a little old fashioned but my advice is unless you have to, don't bother......yet

2010 like I said before was released online and to retail on June 15th.

    Thanks, I stand corrected

In general I don't like to be first with new software as it can sometimes be riddled with issues. I prefer to upgrade once teething problems are sorted.

I'm v interested to read users' first impressions though ...

No key = no license. The CD means nothing to be honest.

Where did you purchase it from? Is it genuine?
