Hi, Just wondering if anyone has anny experience with these engines? I working on a project, and this engine fits the bill as it's cheap, t-diesel and 122bhp. Buy does anyone have any opinions on the reliability/ease of working outside of its natural 'under the bonet home' e.g. on a boat? Thanks

Hi,

You want to transfer the engine from the car to a boat?
Since there no air cooling it I suspect you need to cool the engine some other way.
Also there's probably rust issues.
Gears.
You'll probably overwork the engine.

I'm sure someone somewhere has done it though.

You may find that that engine is already used as a boat engine in Volvos range of marine diesels.
If you know the injection pump numbers and block numbers you can check yourself and see what parts are common and what need to be changed for a marinised unit.
