Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Penalty Point put on the wrong Licence

So the Old man got a fixed penalty notice in the post that his car was caught doing 95km/h on the M1 - M50 slip road, a 60K/ph zone.

The thing is I was driving the car at the time. "Not to worry", I said, "Give the notice to me and I'll go pay it and give my details for the 2 points". Thing is I forgot all about it untill just a few day's before it was due to be paid.

I was away on business so asked my wife to go to Post office to pay it. I had filled in my details etc so I persumed it would just be a matter of paying at the Post office. I also faxed a copy of the driving licence to my wife to attach to payment so there would be no confusion.

However, at the post office she was informed that the person who the fixed penalty was addressed to MUST be present to pay. Problem is my farther was also out of the country. So the wife pleaded with the guy in the Post office and he agreed to send in the form anyway to avoid the fine doubleing.

So a few weeks pass and we get a notice of payment of fine. Great its all sorted, we thought. Another few weeks pass and my Father gets notice that the 2 point have been applied to his licence not mine. His details were not even on the form sent in (mine were). I had the correct sections filled out but somebody went to the trouble to look-up his licence details and apply the points.

My question is, how do we go about getting the point taken off my Father's licence and put on mine?

    Thanks,
    Twin-go

i imagine he should have sent the form back saying " I wasnt driving...Mr X was" and then a new ticket would have been issued to you.

Yep. That's what happened when I got done. The fine you paid was only for your fathers licence so they couldn't do you on it.
You'll have to contact the finds office to get it sorted.

Same here. Registered owner gets the fine. They send it back saying it wasn't them and give your details. You get a new fine thing in the post then addressed to you.
