    looking for some advice. my current laptop is dying slowly...it's
    about 4 years old at this stage.

    i want to invest in a new laptop. it's just for home use with
    moderate surfing so nothing too powerful. want to connect it
    to a 22" monitor. It'll mostly sit in my living room but nice to have
    the option to throw it in a bag. so ideally ≤ 15".

    there are lots of laptops around the 500 squid mark. wanted to know
    what brands i should be looking at. dell, toshiba, hp, acer all have
    models around this price point with fairly similar specs.

    i know its a subjective question to answer but which would ppl
    here recommend and are there any i should be staying clear off?
