Man they should have just used this unaltered as Spencers theme. Especially the roboty bit at the end.

Jesus, that music makes feel old.

This should have been arthurs theme

Naw way. Arthur's theme in MvC is definitive Ghouls and Ghosts. So good!

    Or for yee Megadrive heads:

That Mega Drive version is horrible.

The Mega Man 7 version is awesome.

It seems that sentinel has less health now since the patch, down to 950 apparently.

Rastan should have been in it. Would have made a great Capcom character (well Taito one). My favorite game music ever. Would love to hear update.

Hes not a capcom character

    Good if he was. lol

Em what about Black Tiger. He was Capcom and would fit in well in a fighting game with the ball and chain and dagger moves.

Mindblowing to think that this is on a machine that predates the NES.

Also, it's rumoured that X-Factor got nerfed in the latest patch - if it's true, that's much bigger than the Sentinel vitality nerf IMO, depending on exactly what they did.

EDIT: Seems Sentinel actually got nerfed to 925K: http://neoempire.com/forum/showpost.php?p=356626&postcount=3069

Did a patch come out today?

That's got to be the laziest, stupidest attempt at a balance change ever.

He's a giant goddamn robot he should have lots of health, that just makes sense.

We don't even know if he'll remain top tier material but if they were serious about toning him down they could at least have have nerfed his x-factor gains or weakened some of his good tools like spit or the frying pan bounce or something sensible like that.

Its crazy that they made these balance changes so soon. I wonder will they patch out the dhc trick.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,762 ✭✭✭Yreval

Just tested X-Factor. No changes as far as I can tell, which is a shame, because I'd much rather they nerfed this than reduced Sentinel's health.

I make it no secret that I hate that bloody robot and that he needed a health nerf but nerfing him down to 925k!? Even I think thats being a bit excessive!

Indeed, it was both insane and silly to do that to him.

Here's a quick rundown of the things discovered so far. 1. Sentinel's health reduced.

    2. Akuma's hit stun on Hurricane Kick decreased, removing infinite.

    3. Spencer ground glitch removed.

    4. Haggar ground glitch removed.

    5. Dormammu's Jumping Medium Attack does 70,000 damage, up from 50,000.

    6. Reportedly, Spencer's corner loop has been removed.

    Goodbye Sentinel, Hello Hulk! :p

I got combo'd twice by a wesker player today, hits where only 15ish i think, both combo's killed sent... tis bullsh,it

Im going for hulk smash now before he gets nerfed.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 25,868 Mod ✭✭✭✭Doctor DooM

That was a really poor decision to take I think this quick in.

You know how these things are, people were already developing anti Sent tactics. Characters need things which make them cool and different, it's not like Sent didn't have his weaknesses (hilarious hitbox, uncancellable armoured moves).

Capcom are listening waaaaaay too much to online moaners these days. :(

    . . .

And I literally JUST ordered myself the hyper-guide yesterday.

On the other hand, at least it seems to be only 13 changes...I'll just put notes into it to amend sections, I suppose, once all the dust has died down and people have the values of things esatablished.

Also, the MvC3 wiki puts Sent at 905K health right now.

    Capcom killed him the bastards.

He wasn't even broken, only the noobs who couldn't handle the sodium were broken.

Does he still do absurdly huge amounts of damage with Xfactor?

I thought that was the actual complaint against him?

That's why alot of people over yonder are calling it a bad, knee jerk nerf. (Which it does appear to be, to be fair, and I don't play Sent).

They could have just tightened up the timing on a couple of things, or reduced the damage on a couple of moves.

Not that I think such a big gameplay change is good at this early juncture anyway.

I think they actually increased the damage on some of his stuff.

That really makes no sense then.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,302 ✭✭✭Voa

That's pretty much the opposite of sense.
If he retained his health, lost some power on his moves, lost some X-factor bonus damage, he'd be a lot less hated.
Making him into a hyper-armoured glass cannon is just...

    ...are Capcom trolling us?

Ever since the SSF4AE change info started coming in I've had a sneaking suspicion that Capcom have some kind of sweepstakes going as to how much stupid **** they can do and still milk everyone for a massive profit. :pac:

    Hulk Smash.
