    Does anyone know where this quote - it may not be exactly worded as above - came from? Trying to find an original source for an essay, Google's no use.

    It sounds like somebody who doesn't actually understand Godwin's law but has decided to invoke it anyway.

    Sounds like Godwins's Law, which is humour btw and shouldn't probably be used in serious situations.

    Thanks re Godwin's, interesting Wikipedia page on that.

    I think the quote is one of those "it's often said" things.

    I would be more of the opinion that the first person to declare an argument lost because of Nazi comparisons has lost the argument.
