Darksiders - Can't think of any game in recent history that has had me quite this hooked... Played it for almost 8 hours solid today:o

With the exception of some dubious checkpoints, not helped by my tendency to play a game on the hardest setting, I thought it was great start to end.
    Even the ending.

Darksiders - Steep learning curve on hard (gets better as soon as you start buying moves and get more health), but it was a brilliant game. Took about 25 hours to get 1000 GS out of it too, so it was great value for money.

Ah yes, there's nothing quite like walking past a checkpoint with a full health bar, getting spanked by a boss and restarting at the checkpoint with HALF OF MY FUPPING HEALTH! (I can only imagine how annoying that would be on harder difficulties!)
There's a really annoying lift glitch as well which is stopping me from getting an item, and I don't have a save I can revert back to, so I'll need to start all over again if I want 100% completion:(
Despite that, I'm still enjoying it immensely. One of the best games of the year so far imo.

Playing a bit of Yoshi's Island and Tetris on my DS, and will get stuck into the GoW collection when I've finished Darksiders (loaded GoW 1 up quickly earlier and it seems to have scrubbed up nicely!)

There was one particular point that almost reached killzone levels of frustration. A fight with 5 or 6 standard guys, then two of the fish things that vomit the goo ****, then 2 of the big guys with armour, all in a little arena. I never lose patience with games, but I swear I was close to snapping the controller when I got there.

Just started Bioshock for the PC, never bothered finishing it the first time, and it's much better than I remember.

Just passed the 'Fontaine Fisheries' bit after getting the photos of Splicers for Peach Wilkins. He weirdly sounds a lot like Joker from The Dark Knight, especially at the bit where Peach Wilkins is about to betray you and his giving the speach about meeting the devil.

    Anyway, awesome game :D

Meant to get into some BioShock 2 this month but got stuck into Windwaker for a change of pace, absolutely loving it. New International Track and Field on the DS for 10-15 minute bursts on the train as well.

A couple of ipod games have been holding my attention lately.

I've just started a hardcore game of Space Miner (having just finished Normal and Hard). There is something ridiculously moreish about that game.

Espgaluda 2 is a superb shooter and one of the best looking games on the ipod.

Pew Pew 2 is a geometry wars-ish vector shooter. Hard as nails, but very addictive. The campaign mode keeps throwing new things at you (every level introduces a new gaming mechanic), and the infinity modes are like separate games (like the different games in Geometry Wars 2).

Just Cause 2. My game of the year so far. Over 100 hours in and only 77% complete. Huge, amazing and beautiful game world. It's like GTA's sexier younger sister. On coke.

    Dragon Age: Origins

What a fantastic game, I'm about 60 hours in but I think I'm only about 50% through the game.

Makes me want to play Baldur's Gate again though.

My laptop has died, and is looking unlikely to be ressurected until Monday or Tuesday when Dell get in the requisite parts.

As such, 'stuck' with my Xbox and FIFA 10 and MW2. It's been tough.

Nothing at the moment, due to exams. That'll all change soon, though, as I've got Pokémon Soul Silver at the ready and waiting to be played. =D

I recently tried a demo of Darksiders and was quite impressed! Terrific art style, I love how they chose to make a game that draws from such dark mythology as bright and colourful as possible. The combat system's great, I especially like the dodging mechanics, it made for a few stupendously fun boss battles. The dungeon designs are well designed and interesting to explore, but the puzzles you encounter within them are disappointingly obvious... though maybe the demo level is from an early, easy part of the game, so that would be acceptable. Seems to be quite a good Zelda game! I think I might buy it at some point.

I'm actually playing more with my exams. :/

Haven't really gone out in the last two weeks, as I've been staying in rather than going out on the tear.

    Do it!!!
Completed it recently and as soon as the end credits had rolled I started again on apocalyptic difficulty.
An absolutely fantastic game as I've already said on the last page, and the only game I've ever bothered putting the effort in for 1000/1000 gamerpoints

I just started with the new sin and punishment on the wii today, which is ****ing amazing, and it seems very few others are giving it a chance. Shame too since it is ****ing amazing, as I previously mentioned.

Hmm, nearly a month later and I've cleared off God Of War 2 and 3 which were both fantastic. Followed those up with Uncharted which was also fantastic bar some slight niggles with the cover system and an unsatisfying shooting mechanic.

As for right now, Alan Wake arrived on Thursday and thoroughly enjoying that. :)

I'd have to agree. Playing since Monday night and frustrating for me, is an understatement!!!

I'm feeling oldskool, so I'm diving back into UFO: Enemy Unknown. I'll finish it and Terror From The Deep if it kills me. Just about to assault my first alien base in Brazil. The bastards sided with the aliens and stopped funding me.

Finally! Took a couple of days off for a long weekend to play this and I'm loving it.
Also playing FM10 on my laptop on a longterm save in 2018.

It's so very good, although utterly mental even for a Cave shooter. I'm playing the 360 version and spent the best part of two hours the other day trying to learn the scoring system in the Black Label section. I watched expert replays and still barely understand what the hell is going on. But when you manage to get one of those combos where hundreds of score multipliers pop up on screen at the same time, it is just fantastic. Definitely check out Mushimesama Futari 1.5 on the 360 if you like it, much easier to get a hang of and do well in ('cept on Ultra of course).

Finally decided to start investing the time in Ikaruga. Getting better, still destroys me quite regularly but I'm working my way through it slowly.

Enjoying Alan Wake at the moment, refusing to play during the day though, it seems like a disservice to the game :pac: Gameplay isn't always quite on par with the atmosphere, but its a refreshing experience.

Started playing Penumbra too, which is another really atmospheric game.

Other than that, still on SSFIV, Yakuza 3 (play sessions last way too long in that game!) and occasionally FF13 - which I don't play too often, because it just becomes repetitive. Dipping in every so often reminds me how great the battle system is, then I just remember that's all there is.
