Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The girls are doing very well at the UEFA competition!

Results from the 2nd Qualifying Round:

    ROI 3 - 1 Ukraine

    ROI 1 - 1 Poland

    ROI 2 - 1 Sweden

The win against Sweden means the girls finish top of their group, a point above Sweden and into the semi - finals. They did really well considering they were losing to Sweden 1 - 0 before bagging 2.

This competition will also make give 3 teams World Cup qualification in Trinidad and Tobago.

    Best of luck girls!

Thats great news! The fact that they are into the final means that they will be heading to the WC in Trinidad and Tobago! The Germans would have been favourites, didn't concede a goal all tournament until the semi final against the girls.

Best of luck to Noel King and the team against a tough Spain team!

Thanks for bumping this DULLAHAN 2!

Well done and particularly to Dora Gorman, the captain who is playing in a county that can't get a proper ladies league going.

    Best of luck girls!

13 mins gone and it's still nil all. It's live on Eurosport at the moment. I'm only after turning it on so I can't say who has been doing the most attacking...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,950 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

Ooo! A defensive error from a great cross nearly gifted Ireland a goal. Our girls just couldn't get to it before the keeper scooped it up...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,430 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

Cant watch it but fingers crossed for them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,950 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

Oh golden chance for the Spanish! Free girl inside the box for a header and I don't know why but she bent down to head and it went up and over. If she jumped up and got above it, it was a certain goal.

Jaysus! Spain miss another easy goal!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,950 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

Half time and it's 0 - 0 and Spain with the better chances, really should be one up.
Ireland giving away a lot of frees with silly tackles and losing possession in midfield.

Hopefully we can kick on in the second half...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,950 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

Campbell, the goal scorer against Germany, had to come off after picking up an injury. It's Spanish attack after attack so our defenders are doing well.

Ireland are getting the odd attack in too and always look to be getting very close to a goal when they do.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,950 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

WHoah! Irish keeper, Maloney, probably should have caught the shot but decided to punch it and almost handed it to the Spaniards!

OOOOOoooo it's a goal for Spain!!!!

Great sh...ohhhhh! The ref has disallowed it but I have no idea what for.

That seems harsh. It was a great shot.
