Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

Has anyone here had any success claiming from the Co Council for damage caused to your car due to condition of the road? If so what is the procedure?

I hit an enormous pot-hole (half the width of the road) during the week which resulted in a cracked alloy and ruined tyre. Took pictures of it and have receipts for repairs...

Don't waste your time looking for money for repairs.
They are not liable for wear and tear of the road surface.
If they repaired the road in a negligent fashion which caused damage then you may have a case.

By neglecting to fix the road they are liable for, surely you can call them up on that!

they are only liable if it was a faulty repair or if the problem had already been reported to them afaik

You can claim from the council but you cannot claim from the council and your insurance company. The council will take a hell of a lot longer to pay out tho.

Insurance would most likely not be an option here as most policies have an excess of between 100 and 300quid.
You can only make a claim if the council made a bad repair job or they were aware of the damaged surface and hadn't fixed it. I've heard of quite a few successful claims so it is worth chasing up
