Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone know what the story is, or experiencing any difficulty or delays with stuff coming or going in the post at the moment with the volcano ash problem?

I posted a wheelset and a bike to the UK on Thursday and yesterday. Just curious of when they'll arrive, if they'll get there later than expected. Do things like that normally go by air? Or do they go on a boat?

No info on An POst website or Royal Mail's.

I suspect larger parcels to and from the UK (such as wheels and full bikes) will come by sea. Having said that, I also suspect there will be delays because of the amout of "priority" traffic (cargo as well as people) switching from air.

I was wondering about this too. No sign of disruption to postal services mentioned anywhere in the media. I think ireland - UK - Ireland post is by ship anyhoo (considering how long it takes in the first place). I've been waiting ages for stuff to come from UK. I'd say give it at least a week?

Only a matter of time before it's effected I'd say

An Post said the other day that they were sending stuff by ferry to the UK and to expect a 1-2 day delay. It normally goes by air as it gets things closer to its destination quicker - lots of airports in the UK are served, but only a few ports.

American post would have gone OK on Friday, no sure about anything collected Friday evening / Saturday. They were holding off on European (and much of the rest of the world) post to see how things developed.

Saw 2 Royal Mail lorries today near the big An Post sorting office opposite entrance to Park West. So it would appear that they are delivering directly into Dublin via car ferry for normal distribution then by An Post. Most likely taking mail back to Britain also.
