Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Arsenal:

    Fabianski
    Sagna, Campbell, Silvestre, Clichy
    Eastmond
    Diaby, Nasri
    Walcott, Bendtner, Rosicky

Subs: Van Persie, Vela, Mannone, Eboue, Traore, Merida, Henderson.

Interesting, no Almunia. Merida returns to the bench. Conor Henderson, a tall Irish CM makes the bench for the first time....

13:30 on sky sports one I think.
It'll be intresting to see which team turns up for Wigan and to see how McCarthy is progressing

    Denilson injured?

Strange one alright, I like Eastmond - bundles and bundles of energy, reminds me a little of Flamini.

No almunia atleast gives Fab a chance to prove himself but i hope it dont mean wenger sees him as our long term no.1.

Interesting. Happy to see Eastmond get a start.

Me too. Though I would have preferred to see a CB blooded, I'll take a DM!

    Campbell is captain.

Well our two main CB prospects are out on loan atm (Bartley+Nordtveit) so there wasn't many options there really.

Miquel or Hajrovic is about it I can think of?

Interesting that Henderson is preferred to Coquelin who is highly regarded in the reserve side. Fingers crossed he'll prove his worth in the coming years.

Almunia not there and with the earlier quotes by Wenger, very very interesting..

I think Coquelin is probably seen as more of an attacking, box to box type while Eastmond is more of a sitting type, and thus gets the nod. A Diaby to your Song if you will.

Well, with Song ruled out it looks like the best option!

Indeed. But what of Henderson? Would have thought le Coq would've been on the bench ahead of him. Anyways its good to see an Irish name on the Arsenal teamsheet.

I doubt he'll get on, unless we're hammering them with about 15 to go, but I don't see that happening either with how Jekyll and Hyde Wigan have been this year and that they really need to start picking up points to ensure survival.

Rubbish from Walcott...loads of space there, maybe he should be on the other wing so he'll be more confident of shooting?

Great pace from Campbell straight after that chance!

Nah, he's been good ever since he came back bar a couple of slip ups...far superior to Silvestre anyway.

England place beckons yet. I'd take him over the likes of Lescott.

Nice goal, kind of looks like his pace and momentum kept him upright to toe it in.

Walcott's been good and diaby's been reading boards.ie slating of him it seems. He's doing well

Too right, I think Sol's been one of our best players in the last few months. Really stepped up to the plate.

LOL at Walcott, would barely count that goal as a shot. :pac:

Thought he was gonna fall over there...didn't realise he actually managed to get the shot off until the replay!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,934 ✭✭✭Paleface

Walcott did well to stay on his feet and poke the ball in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,043 ✭✭✭✭L'prof

Unlucky there from Walcott, was very close. Great to see him take the shot on!
