Twice now Barcelona have had a player in the box with a bit of space. If they had a striker on, they might have pulled one back.

I was going to post this before the match but didn't get a chance; heard it mentioned the ref is from Bulgaria? I cannot for the life of me understand how UEFA pick refs from nowhere leagues to ref at this level. You could have the choice of an English ref, a Dutch ref, a Portuguese ref -> All referee at a high level in good leagues and none of them have an interest in the competition any more.

Btw how good has Lucio been tonight? Does he still play for Brazil? Fancy them big time for the World Cup.

Dunno who that sub is on the wing, but he has done nothing since he came on and could cost Inter. Everyone is busting a gut and he is strolling around the place!!!

edit - no. 45 just skyed it lol

Its games like these were you need an Eto'o and not an Ibra if your Barca.

    LOL at the Chelsea fans.

Abject is the only thing I can say about that so called performance. Alves, Keita and Ibra may as well not have been on the pitch.

Dream is very much over

Honestly cant see Barca losing this match.

A far superior team and should prove it over 2 legs.

    quite

barca playing a centre half up front?

henry must surely be gone in the summer

Inter were amazing, their energy is something else. first time barca concede 3 this season too

jose does it again, the man is a great tactician

Not a bad result considering how bad Barca were...I reckon we will take that shower at Camp Nou.

Guardiola got this badly, badly wrong. Why the heck didn't he throw a striker on? I mean what the feck was Pique doing as a target man?

true, but when you dive as much as daniel alves, decisions are going to go against you too.

I've no idea if that was the cause but Barca did look visibly tired and with no spark at all.

Where's that thread that pretty much praised Barca as the greatest football team ever which when I called them possibly overrated and that I thought Inter would beat them. Delighted, all the Barca fanboys can stop creaming themselves now.

Yes, this is a quintessential Bulgarian name: Olegario Benquerenca.

My laptop is fine as are my eyes.

Martin Keown has just mentioned everything I previosuly mentioned.

#1 Messi fouled in build up to 2nd goal
    #2 Milito offside
#3 Penalty to Barca and Alves booked.
#4 Unrelated but horrible manager; horrible team; horrible president; horrible shenanigans to rob scudetti.

Alves is a shocking crosser of the ball. Totally overrated player.

Fair play to Inter - they got it spot on.

One of two things will happen at Camp Nou

Either Inter will do the same or

    Barca will tear them apart

The only positive is the away goal

Nothing else to be cheerful about.

A drab 0-0 is on the cards. Think Barcelona vs Chelsea last season.

Can you be a Barca fan and not a fanboy? Or will I just call you a Man U fanboy and we will be done with it?

The bitterness from the fans of clubs who did not make it this far is astounding, but not entirely surprising.

Martin Keown has just mentioned everything I previosuly mentioned.
He also said that Barca need to score 4 to go through. And when called on it he said 3.

Anyway, it's not over yet. Inter still need to go to the Nou Camp

Mourinho is a hero, prayings hes the man to replace SAF.

Rofl. Had to get an old dig in eh? Messi has one bad game in the KO's and now he's back to being as good as he was at 19? Grow up mate.

Gutted by that to be honest, Inter were well deserved winners. Sometimes the other team is just better than you all over the pitch and that's what happened tonight. Messi was nullified excellently, but our defence played absolutely shocking. Can't believe they made some of the mistakes they did. Guardiola also shouldn't have taken off Ibra, there isn't a good enough presence upfront when he takes off the CF.

Anyway ya, congrats to Interista's, can't see Barca overturning a 2 goal deficit considering how good this Inter team is at defending. Mourinho got the better of Guardiola tonight, there was always going to be a night where Pep's team are considerably outplayed and beaten. Gutted that the chance of winning the CL at the Bernabeu is so slim now. Ah well, c'est la vie.

Thought we were awful, and luck went against us too. I just hope the entire world doesn't jump on some sensationlist calamity fest stating Barca are pretenders and Messi is awful. I look forward to reading idiotic posts like only1stevo's above.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 18,300 ✭✭✭✭Seaneh

Everyone having a pop at Ibra, he played badly but he has Zero supply, the barca midfield was non-existant. Messi might as well have stayed on the bus, Xavi did bugger all and OMG how is Sergio Basquets a regular for the spanish and european champions?

Worst player on the pitch by a long, long way was Alves though.

Balotelli looked like he wasn't arsed at all when he came on, but I was pleasantly surprised to see him track back a lot. Just shows that he's not a winger, doesn't suit his mentality at all.

Well played Inter, played great stuff and stayed on their feet.

    Barca - serial divers.

    2nd leg should be good.
