Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't think Spurs have the manager to do it at the moment. Challenging for fourth is imho, overachieving for Redknapp.

At the risk of sounding bitter, do people really put Redknapp in the same class as Mourinho, SAF, Wenger or Ancelotti?

IF they get 4th this year, they'll have done a brilliant job if they repeat the feat next season. The CL alone will be a huge distraction from league football, so they'll need to fill out their squad a little more just to challenge on both fronts.

4th again next year would be an amazing achievement.

I dont think he is in the same 'class' no but he has put together a team that will play for each other and concentrate for 90 minutes in almost all games. These characteristics are vital for a manager to hold and especially for spurs who have been so flaky in seasons gone by.

Redknapp deserves massive credit for putting spurs in the position of challenging for 4th place with 4 games to go but as for the title!!!!! Its that kind of talk that gets spurs fans shot down fairly and all too commonly by other fans. Its been a great season so far but as others have said the aim for next season should be repeating it whilst playing midweek games- whether they be champions league or europa.

Very few managers are in the Mourinho/Wenger/Fergie class. Its still debateable whether Ancelotti deserves to be there to be honest.

Redknapp not being in that class doesn't meen he's not a superb manager. He's done an excellent job for West Ham, Portsmouth and Spurs and has exceeded expectations and previous performances at all three clubs.

His critics say his success is based on having money to spend and its true that he has been well backed in the transfer market at Pompey and Spurs. But he has also shown that he has the capability of using that money well and his transfers have a well above average success rate. Many many other manager have been well backed in he transfer market and STILL done poorly with itn(see Roy Keane or Mark Hughes). At least you know with Harry if you give him money he'll usually do well with it. He has a brilliant eye for a bargain or a free transfer as well.

He has also shown that hes not all about spending either at Spurs. He has shown that he can get the best out of players that had previosuly been written off as failures or who have underperformed. The likes of Bale, Huddlestone, Bentley, Pavlyuchenko, Dawson, Assou-Ekotto were players that were already at Spurs and had been written off as duds when he arrived, or had been major disappointments. In the space of 18 months he has transformed thm into valuable first team menbers who are playing at least twice as well as previously for the club.

He might be good in the transfer market but Harry is also a very good man-manager who gets the best out of players. Transforming Spurs from relegation candidates to a team on the broink of the CL in 18 months is a remarkable ahievement and not to be snitted at. Just because he's not as good as Wenger and Fergie doesn't make him a brilliant manager.

If Spurs finish 4th and than qualify for the group stages of the Champions league i see them sooner finish mid-table than top 4 again.
Clubs not used to playing CL pay a price for doing so.

It all depends on who is brought in this summer i see Jol told levy where to go when he inquired about Luis Suarez.

Suarez = Kezman from South America.
Suarez should not even consider going to the Premier League. Spain is much more a suitable league for him.
In England they will not like his behaviour on the pitch. 1st class diver and moaner when things dont go his way.

We've bought another one he's completly untried though hopefully he'll make the Brazil squad this summer looks like he'll be a fring player for another couple of years though at least Harry's been chasing him since last summer.
Real Barca inter juventus and fiorentina where all rumored to be intrested.

They'd probally be able to nick a few players of the french teams who did well in Europe this season.

Benzema looks like he'll be leaving Madrid this summer wonder if they could come up with the cash for him?
