Does anyone on here know anything about metal detecters? how much would it cost for a decent one? can you get them local anywhere?

My OH has one - I bought it for him for his birthday a few years back. He's still planning on going out and finding a fortune somewhere, sometime  I can't remember now where I got it - definitely not local - I bought it online. Mind you, someone could be selling them locally now, but worth a search on Google to compare prices at least. I can't even tell you if the make we have is any good or not, since it's practically unused. Eldest son used it in January to find his underground water pipes in the big freeze - that's all! :o
