Marco Fu (HK) 5-4 Martin Gould (Eng) (to a finish)
    70-28 (70), 76-21 (58), 39-66, 71-6, 72-62, 1-72, 118-1 (112), 0-127 (103), 43-72 (51)

Mark Williams (Wal) v Marcus Campbell (Sco)

    1430:
Ali Carter (Eng) 7-2 Jamie Cope (Eng) (to a finish)
    68-32 (55) 69-22 7-69 (62) 62-42 100-20 (57) 62-25 73-32 66-64 (Cope 64) 45-66

Ronnie O'Sullivan (Eng) v Liang Wenbo (Chn)

    1900:

Mark Williams (Wal) v Marcus Campbell (Sco)

Mark King (Eng) v Steve Davis (Eng)

A long grueling day for Mark Williams & Marcus Campbell today, but Mark is red hot favourite after his China win and Marcus hasn't played in The Crucible in 9 years: Williams (1/9) - Campbell (5/1)

Obviously Ronnie will go in favourite but the bookies aren't counting Liang Wenbo out. Even though, it's still definitely worth putting a shilling or two on an upset: O'Sullivan (1/5) - Liang (10/3)

They have Mark favourite in "The Romford Derby" but I fancy Steve for the win. It'll probably be tight though: King (4/9) - Davis (13/8)

Betting odds taken from Paddy Power.

A mate who works for John Parris Cues in London told me Ronnie was in last week for a new tip on his cue and was full of beans, chatting to all the lads and looking forward to going to Sheffield.
That is a good sign, but in the world of Ronnie O' Sullivan like politics a week is a long time and a lot can change. I do however feel he will beat Wenbo but he won't have it all his own way.

Interesting to hear Hendry last night talking about announcing his retirement if he had lost to Zhang, not just because of that loss but what has been a dissappointing season.
Hendry will certainly have to play like he did from 9-7 down to beat Selby, but then again the tough match will have sharpened him up for Selby who really ran out a comfortable winner against Ken, pity for Ken but he never really showed up.

Can't separate Davis and King and that one could go to the last, as mentioned by Celtic, Williams is the red hot fav and should see off Campbell easily enough, Campbell is something of a journeyman snooker player , a practice partner for the like of Higgins and Maguire, although beating Williams here won't change the fact that he will always be remembered in snooker circles as the man who once beat Hendry 9-0 in the UK C'ships.

Fu v Gould turning into an intriguing contest. Some poor frames in terms of play but looks like it may go 9-9.

Gould goes through after taking the last frame by storm. More 10-9 matches please! :D

Steve done well last night to get it back to 5-4 behind after a bad start, would be great to see him play higgins in the next round even though he would probably get destroyed.
