Proof of Residency for Mature Student Grant

I'm currently trying to apply for a mature student grant. One of the documents I need is proof of independent residence from October 1st last year. Unfortunately I'm not down on any utility bills for the house. However I do have a number of letters from VHI addressed to my house. Will these do?

Pay slips perhaps or if you are receiving a state benefit.

you can use your lease or a bank statement addressed to your house
