Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Maxi has been one of the few positives this season, fitting in quite nicely and doing the business.

Maxi getting plenty of freedom down the wings tonight. Cant believe how much West ham are backing off. Very poor from the visitors. Gerrard probably my MOTM. His crossing has been very good

    not even close, sorry.

just because he happened to take some good corners doesn't make him MOTM i'm afraid.

    Maxi for me so far.

Maxi has been good but defenders have made it easy. Ill let you know later where Gerrard comes in the MOTM poll on LFC TV. Pretty sure it will be in top three

    4-3. We're gonna win 4-3 :D
I wish I had your optimism steve. Tbh I was more optimistic during the run in when we escaped on the last day of the season 3 years ago.

I feel the judge is very much out on Maxi when it comes to games that aren't at home and actually matter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,407 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Taking Gerrard off obviously the right move.

Gerrard off, Masch on, 3 ex Hammers on the pitch!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,519 ✭✭✭✭noodler

At least we have Aquaman, Gerrard and Masch all avoiding 90 minutes.

just think how bad Liverpool have been all season Renia is still in with a shout for the Golden Gloves again. He will go in the lead if it stays like this for the rest of the game
Shocked to hear we've the best defensive record in the league since Christmas.

Disappointed Aquilani didnt come on for Gerrard, seems a perfect game for him. Gerrard had a very good game today.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

Take off Lucas and play Aquilani
Take off Kuyt and play El Zhar

He seems to be doing the business in any game ive seen him play, hes a proper footballer, very good at holding onto the ball and rarely gives it away.

Gerrards delivery tonight has been simply immense.

Ditto, didn't think ESPN would have anything interesting to say in the midst of all their Liverpool jibes.

there are a fair few hammers on there who should be ex, they should be ashamed of themselves.

Thank God we have Masch on the bench there!

Thursday/sunday is a pain in the fkin hole if you want to go see matches, (time off and traveling) well it is for me anyway. Saturday/tues/wed was good for me, il see feck all of anfield next year.

Degan coming on! 37,000 inside, all those Nowegians and Irish not at the show.

There should be another 11 ex West Ham players on the pitch the way we're playing. How we've missed Parker.

Has anyone else noticed McCarthy isn't exactly very 'Athletic' looking at the moment...

Even from a lazier point of view. I hate Sunday games that are on at 3. I love when we get to play on Saturdays.

Obviously it also means we never get a Tuesday night game in Europe which we would regularly in the CL which means 50% of the time we play in Europe we would have an extra day to recover compared to a Europa campaign.

If that makes any sense at all.

Aquilani's situation is downright bizarre. He's hardly playing Thursday?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,407 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

    Nice effort from Maxi there.

On a serious note, it kinda depressing that some young lads cant get a chance in these situations.

No idea, does Rafa consider Athletico less physcial? That the game will be a slower pace?

    I honestly do not know.

Great ****ing work from Kuyt and Maxi there. Still hustling like that after 80 mins makes me happy.

    not a hope.

it'll take the mother of all explanations for me to understand how he has been handled this year.

i just do not get it.

Yeah wtf is going on with Aqua, surely this would have been the ideal time to give him 30 mins or whatever.

Btw Green is very dodgy in goal there, if he is Englands no 1 in the summer they are screwed.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,082 ✭✭✭✭Spiritoftheseventies

Bit of a Terryesque type challenge from Faubert

I think most Liverpool fans try to draw a smile and play it off as kinda funny but it really isn't. I mean tonight just could not be set up better.

Off the wall conspiracy theory time on Aquilani.

    - Don't want to push through the appearance payments [don't snigger down the back]

    - Also if he doesn't play, he's hardly likely to make the Italian WC squad,
which would mean the summer off, which with his injuries would pobably be no harm.

If Italy don't pick him because of that (assuming they don't have an in-form replacement of course) then they are stoopid.

I would be thinking - lovely, he is fresh for the world cup.

When you consider how effective he is, then think about the prices English center backs go for in moves involving Premiership / Championship clubs it really ****ing boggles the mind.

nope I think he gave it up

I remember a story regrading him not wanting to do friendlies but the management weren't having it so McCarthy quit

Don't know if he has been named in recent Italian squads.

On Pacheco - he's apparently off with the fecking Spanish U19s again.
Getting to the stage where it's pissing me off now.
