Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    KING OF THE AMATEURS FULL CONTACT MMA EVENT,
    ONE DAY FIVE CHAMPIONS
    31ST JULY 2010 CLOSING DATE TO BE DECIDED.

    The event will be held in the Slieve beagh hotel in Co.Monaghan.The surface will be a matted area.
    it will be a 25 euro cover,pay on the day
    all fighters will fight a 5 minute round,in round one the winner will progess
    to round two and the winner of this round,will then progess to round 3 then moving on to the final round.
    be the last fighter standing and be crowned THE KING OF THE AMATEURS

    WEIGH INS
    weigh in will be on the day at 10am till 11 am,rules meeting at 11.30 am
    fights begin at 12pm. you must make weight on the day if you fail to do so
    you will have one hour to cut.

    RULES
    no head strikes,mma gloves,shin pads,gum shield,groin guard.

    it's full contact, that means how hard you strike. of you strike with full intent it's full contact
    the same way kyokushin karate kumites are full contact with no head shots and semi-kickboxing competitions with head shots
    are semi-contact

    Kyokushin is full contact in that it allows unprotected (no padding of any kind) strikes to all targets including the head. No punches to the face (since no gloves) but full contact kicks without padding to the head and body, full contact punches to the body, again without padding or gloves.

    80% of Kyokushin matches end in Knockout (through unprotected, full contact, shin kicks to the leg or head).

    So, nothing like Kyokushin at all really...

    I looked at the rules vids on facebook last week. Maybe I picked it up wrong but I'm sure it said you could slam out of submissions??? is this correct or did I misunderstand it?
