Can anyone tell me how in the name of god is this economicly viable for a small town like dungarvin and why it could not be replicated in larger towns like Ennis, Dundalk or Sligo

Is Ennis not supposedly ringed by fibre?

Ennis is not ringed by fibre and never was. It was the first town in Ireland that had VDSL but that gear was removed around 2005/2006. Now they can barely get DSL because the 'Information Age' gear that eircom installed was just a fancy name for digital line splitters.

Because they were doing so well in 2001 under the 'information age' banner they never got a fibre MAN unlike every other town that size ( excepting Castlebar and Shannon ).

Forfás called for one in 2008 and again in 2010 but Ryan ignored them. Having the only Green councillor in Ireland doesn't matter much it seems.

I remember that, they offloaded low spec bargen basement Dell pc's at a discount. DSL wasnt subsidised so nobody signed up for it. "top up" cash card fell flat on its arse because it basicly didnt work properly. Promised so much, little delivered.
