Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Getting rid of your first car :-(

A friend once told me that you'll never love a car the same way that you love your first car. I laughed it off as I'd just poured my life savings into an old Peugeot 205 (I was 17). Turns out, many years later, the car that served me so well is going to be hard to part with! Especially when it's still running fine and I don't HAVE to get rid of it...

Anyone else feel the same way?

Actually yeah. There is nothing special about my first car. But every other car I'm in gets compared to it. Lots of good memories in it. Some of them scary!! :D

I still check the reg of cars that look like it to see if its my old car. I'm hoping it is living a good decent happy life with regular oil changes!

For me, my first car was nothing special....at all. I was glad to get rid of it (5 years ago). I'm on my 4th car now and I feel the way you do about not wanting to part with it. Didn't feel that way about my 1st, 2nd or 3rd cars! I suppose it depends on how happy you are with said car. You might find down the line that you'll become attached to another car that's even harder to get rid of :D

Folding my 1st car around a lamp post did make it easier to say goodbye to it...
