Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The hostel I'm staying at in Nairobi organizes these tours so I decided to tag along. Fecking expensive tho, about $100 a day :O

Doesn't seem that expensive for a guided safari, but anyway - the final picture is my favourite, I like the air / sky deal :)

Looks like a superb place, what gear did you shoot with?

1 I would crop a good bit of sky out especially if its blown, same with 2 although this would look great in a panoramic format

6,7 and 11 would be my picks

Great shots, this is on my list of destinations to travel to, it's great to get so close to the animals.

Canon 40d with the 70-300 IS USM.

I'll try a crop on the first one thanks.

My old p&s film camera died on the Serengeti due to the dust, so something to be wary of if people do end up there with nice gear!

Great shots. Did you get close enough to shoot the lions at 300mm did you have to crop these ?

So many people online told me to be careful of the dust before I went to Africa but really it's not a problem if you just be careful when changing the lens, the 40d is a daycent workhorse, been out here 6 months now without a problem.

The lion pics (6+7) are cropped but not by much. The lions do get very close at times though. Missed an opportunity to get a pic of one walking right outside the window as I couldn't change lenses quick enough!
