For €30!!! I'm pretty sure they were not referring to an onlay bone graft at that price...!! Opg X-ray is more likely...

Op do you have private medical insurance??

    No unfortunately.

    No unfortunately.
Pity, it would have helped with an impacted wisdom tooth removal....
The prices you mention are fairly standard. €350 for a lower wisdom is ok by specialist prices, a bit pricey by general dentist prices IMO.

It's for the upper right wisdom tooth. They said it would need to be a surgical extraction.... is it still pricey for that?

Depends, most upper wisdom teeth appear to be more difficult than they are... But in fairness when they are difficult, they can be very tricky... I'd charge less, that's all I can say really....

    Hello,
I am looking for an advice as well, as I had a couple of "not-too-good-experiences" :/

I have pain on a tooth that have already a filling from many years ago.
I hope I can keep it, but I know I might need root canal (hope not).

I am not scared by dentists but I need to see good quality and trust the clinic... one important thing for me for root canal or fillings etc it's too see they use the dental dam (as I am scared things falling in my throat, lol).

Any recommendations? I live in Dub15 but no problems to go somewhere else!

    Thanks

Looking for a good dentist in Dublin that is specialized in wisdom teeth! I don't care about the area/money as long as the quality of the services is excellent. If anyone has suggestions in this regard and can drop me a PM with advices I would greatly appreciate it :) Thanks!

Look up oral surgeons. They are inherently good at wisdom teeth....

Anyone know a good dentist that will treat someone with a fear of dentists kindly? Think I'll go to Dublin for this cause there's more dentits so a higher chance of getting a good one.

Had one of my front teeth cracked (about 1/3 of it is gone) when I was 19, got it fixed at the time (think it was a porcelain crown, but ot sure) but broke off again a couple years ago.

Been looking online and prices seems to range wildly from around €400-€1200. I don't need anything fancy, just for my tooth not to look broken anymore. Living in D8 but work out in Citywest; and recommendation on a dentist to have a look at, maybe one that's open late (i.e. 7pm or so)?

I don't have a massive fear of dentists or anything, but the dentist in Smiles dundrum was very careful to crack jokes and put me at my ease when I first came in, and explained everything very clearly and what he was going to do next, etc

The cheapest option is usually not the best option

Thanks. I had a look at them there and they have 6 dentists, you can't pick can you? You just book and then see who you get? I don't mind which one I get anyway as long as they don't tell me to lie there and then just attack my mouth like the last one. :(

Which may be very true in this case! I just don't know of any dentists in Dublin, only moved down in July. Do <mod snip. have a bad reputation?

I don't know it was my first visit. I've forgotten your man's name anyway. But he was very careful to tell me what he was doing and this would last however long, may feel some pain at this bit, etc etc
    was good

    Hi all,

I have been putting off treatment for a long time now due to a developed fear of dentists after years of extensive work. I just lost another filling and it's time I face the music and get this sorted. Could anyone recommend a dentist in dublin 5/3/9/1/2/7/8 that have experience in large jobs/fillings/filling replacement/root canal treatment? Someone who is mindful of a scardy cat patient would also be great. Thanks in advance for any help guys, dee

    Hi folks,
As with many others on this thread, it's high time I went to a dentist again (been about once in the last ten years, I think, and have just noticed that has not been a good strategy!). Looking for someone in central Dublin (close to Grafton St/Trinity) and who's not cranky! Answers by PM (it seems!), and thanks for taking the time,
    Mr S

    Hi folks,

Can anyone PM me a recommendation for a dentist in Dublin 6 or city centre? Like many people, I haven't been in a couple of years and they need attention. Looking for a new start, and am too embarrassed to go back to the guy I used to go to, as I clearly haven't been a good patient :S

    Ta.
