Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hello, I will be 21 years old later this year, and was thinking to apply for a A license. I've had two 49cc mopeds at 16(not in this country), but I've passed my driving test and "upgraded" to the car, but I still miss them two wheels. Can someone enlighten me ?

    1. What is the difference between A and A1 ?
    2. Do I need to take lessons before I'm allowed to go on the road?
    3. What engine size I am restricted ?
    4. I only need a small engine to go 'round town easily in the mornings, on the weekends I'll be using the car.
    5. I have my eyes on Honda's (realiability)
    6. Any other info I need to know ?
    7. Thank you;)

    1. Class A1 allows you to ride motorcycles under 125cc. A license allows you to ride any size bike, but you are restricted to less 33bhp or 25kW for the 2years after you pass your driving test.
    2. No. but you would do well to take them anyways.
    3. Depends on you license type. See 1.
    4.
    5. CBR125 might suit. Depends on what type bike you want. (cruiser, sports etc.)
    6. Proper gear can be expensive, but will save you in an accident.
    7. You're welcome.

1.a1 is max 125cc A is unrestricted on cc but first 2 years are restricted to under 33bhp.
    2. You don't have to take lesson's yet, but you should get them.
3.if you get an A licence your not restricted by cc.
    4. I would get a 250 or 400 if i were you, anything smaller and you'll be bored, i doubt the car as the main vehicle will last, bikes are addictive.
    5.-
    6. Get lessons, weather you think you need them or not, don't skimp on protective gear, if you ever have to use it you'll want the best you can get your hands on.

Actually for the gear, my dad has a friend who is racing on bikes in Italy in a small championship over there so I might get him to send me some protective gear at a reduced price (hopefully).

Thanks for the info lads, now to get the college exams out of the way and apply for the license :D
