So I have some savings in the instant access account with irish nationwide. Given the recent talk of closing down, would I be advised to take the money out?

Not really. They won't be closing and vanishing without trace. They'll either be wound down (in which case there will be plenty of notice) or sold/merged into another institution (in which case there will be plenty of notice). If the rate still works for you, then leave it be.
