Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That's kinda the point though, the worse it looks the better IMO.

One of the best sleepers I ever saw was an old Morris Minor with a Fiat twin cam shoved under the bonnet. The owner did everything to keep the car looking original and its age. He managed to get much bigger tyres on to it by using 14" rims from a Morris Oxford. Stuff like that makes a cool sleeper.

I wouldn't be so sure, its not going to have airbags or any of the other weight-adding crud you find on modern cars. If you lookup its weight you might be surprised.

    Paul Newman's Beetle http://www.streetfire.net/video/paul-newmans-beetle_716461.htm

He said in an interview that he loved the expression in other drivers faces (in his rear-view mirror) when he floored it away from the lights and left them for dust. Especially because they just thought they were beside a middle-aged man in an old VW bug. :D

I only realised that these took Renault engines during the week. One of the lads on Octane was considering one. I think they're a great idea for someone looking for a reasonably light, reasonably quick, RWD retro sleeper.

Ah thats not the same thing at all, its bright yellow for a start. Hardly the sleepiest colour ever! It might have loads more power than a standard one but you'll still be expecting it to be quick. Now if you had that engine in this....

    M701EWW.jpg

...then it would be a sleeper :D
