Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Canons Support for older cameras...

You may of noticed that with the release of the new CPS the older canon bodie (1DMKII, 1D) are now no longer counted as CPS cameras..

This didn't bother me as If and when I do own L glass and two canon bodies I will no probably be able to afford to upgrade the 1D MKII.

Anyway, today I installed the free canon software for my camera just as a backup if my lightroom beta runs out :pac: And it prompted me for registration to join the Canon Image network.. I decided I'd do it(2GB of backup..) and was shocked to see I can't even register my MKII as a body, Where as if I still had my 20D or even worse my 300D I could happily become a member..

I don't understand, 300D's retails in the used market for about €200 and 1D MKII almost 4 times that.. And the 1D is a professional series body and expected to last much longer...

Anybody else think this is a joke?

The joke is the idea that anyone would actually be interested in joining the "Canon Image network". 2GB of backup is nothing.

    I wouldn't worry about it.

It's nice to have 2GB of backup that I can have quick access to and store anything on..

I'd assume it's not blocked where places like flickr and pix.ie are.

Buy a cheap shared hosting account, use Dropbox, box.net, drop.io, other image hosting sites, whatever. They'll let you in even if you only own a 1D.

I don't mean every photo I take, All of my cards are over 2GB or over too, I'd just like to have a nice storage location where I can store a few hundred high res photos which are important to me and may need accessing without ftping (to my server etc)

But It seems as if I can't so nevermind.
