Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sore Hamstring?

    Hi guys,

I'm hoping someone might have an idea what's gone wrong for me... I bought my bike about 2 yrs ago & got a bike fitting done then. Cycling on it since without any problems... I've done a lot of miles on it & plenty of long cycles - anything up to 120/130km... mountains, flat etc all was fine until a few weeks ago.

My hamstring is really sore at the moment - and has been for the last few weeks, normally I get a long hilly cycle in at the weekend & I've noticed it's after this it's sorest & gradually recovers over the week.

My saddle was dipping down so that I was slipping towards the front & I straightened it up a few weeks ago... thinking it must have been this but I never changed the height so not convinced?

Any ideas - should I try lowering the saddle or will that cause some other problem?

    Thanks Guys!

I get slightly sore hamstrings if I hit the hills hard without sufficient warm up. Regardless the conventional wisdom is :
sore hamstrings = seat too high
sore quads = seat too low

lads, ladies. Without medical assessment you cannot be medically diagnosed.

I struggled with a hamstring after about 2 hours into races, but never in training. It was an issue with a disk in my back. My point is that there can be a multitude of causes and effects and you risk greater injury 'treating' the wrong injury.

    Go see a physio.
