We're recently having difficulties sending out mailshots (plenty of them are bounding back or not delivering for no apparent reason). Recipients who previously received the emails are suddenly not getting them.

Apparently they were sent using publisher/outlook.

I've checked spamcop, etc. and our IP is not listed.

Anyhow, the idea of using a specialist company has arisen and I'm wondering would this actually be better than using specialist software for the task such as groupmail? Is there any guarantee that the specialist company can actually ensure that more mails are delivered?

Without knowing much about the format of the emails and how they were sent (ie. which SMTP server etc.,) it's hard to give a full answer.

A lot of issues can be resolved quite easily, though others may take quite a bit more work.

You should have my contact details if you need some help :) (If you don't I'm sure you can find them!)

We send out nearly 500,000 emails a month for various clients using Campaign Monitor and we rarely ever encounter any problems. Highly recommend checking out their service.

No problem - you'll get me via email, as I'm out of the country this week :)

Have to second Campaign Monitor. Absolutely cracking application and great tracking features too.
