    beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

Pretty **** episode. Comedy central also pussied out big time. Pussies.

Aww i wanna see it now too :(

That was a really poor episode, as per usual with the 2 or 3 parters and past-ep referencing episodes - can't wait til they get back to normal next week.

I'm confused though, was that censored sign and beeping done by comedycentral or trey/matt ? Some of it seemed like it was written into the episode.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,243 ✭✭✭discobeaker

I would say the beeps were just for america. I wonder did they beep out things last week in America cos they didnt beep things out last week on comedy central here.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,905 ✭✭✭✭Handsome Bob

Good but not great. Decent save in regards to who Cartman's dad is because when I heard
    the Denver Broncos
    mentioned I rolled my eyes.

The Diamond and Streisand duet was comical, probably the best part of the episode.

I liked what they did with
    Scott Tennerman (sp?)
, maybe they used the Batman GN The Killing Joke as inspiration there but perhaps it was just a coincidence. :)

Not a bad episode. Realls annoyed about the network beeping everyhting out in the end. Kind of makes the point of the episode mute. God damn Americans being over-sensitive

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 886 ✭✭✭randomchild

I thought the beeps were a joke in itself. Alright episode, the concept kind of ran out of steam after the first episode, but the return of scott and the Diamond concert made up for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,892 ✭✭✭madrab

yeah id say all the beeps at the end were done on purpose

Also i was expecting to see some crab people :-)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,469 ✭✭✭weeder

nope, comedy central censored it after delivery.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 886 ✭✭✭randomchild

Really? Why in gods name did they bleep the entire speech then instead of the offending words ?

i dunnp, i was enjoying it up until that point, ruined the whole punchline of the episode.

i would imagine that the big censored box was intentional alright

Weird, with the multiple speeches at the end I assumed it was deliberate as a closing gag.

Overall it was OK, some good jokes but not quite funny enough to justify it as a two parter. The Scott Tenorman segment was great, though.

Mind you, I still think it would have been funnier if they'd just done Not Without My Anus II: Brown Boogaloo instead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

I found it really good, like the last ep there was lots of call-backs:
Dr. Mefesto still intent on adding more asses to animals, nice apperance from Pip before he was smushed, Scott Tennerman's return was brilliant.
I really though they would send Tom Cruise to the Planet Marlark at the end. What they did was much funnier

I'll have to watch CC UK's version of the episode they air on Friday to see if there is a difference, if not we'll have to wait for the DVD.

I really enjoyed it. Considering the payoff it probably would have been better as a 45 minute special. Something for the DVD release if They can do it. ;)

    The beeps annoyed me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,698 ✭✭✭✭BlitzKrieg

I totally called this episode (the whole scott tenorman subplot)

so excuse me as i go off and be all smug!

I think they dropped the ball on the mohammad plot but the cartmen plot was fulfilled perfectly.

they sadly missed a few quality references
the main one for me being the opening with vietnam I was expecting to see ferris wheels and rollercoasters

    What happened to Mecha Streisand?

    Not that great imo.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,338 ✭✭✭aphex™

Not that bad. Well, the beeps were ridiculous. Overly conovluted maybe. I would have like to have seen Scott Tenorman earlier in the whole thing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

    Has anyone seen this?

    http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/04/22/south-park-creators-respond/
"In the 14 years we've been doing South Park we have never done a show that we couldn't stand behind. We delivered our version of the show to Comedy Central and they made a determination to alter the episode. It wasn't some meta-joke on our part. Comedy Central added the bleeps. In fact, Kyle's customary final speech was about intimidation and fear. It didn't mention Muhammad at all but it got bleeped too. We'll be back next week with a whole new show about something completely different and we'll see what happens to it."

Interesting, I wonder why Comedy Central chose to bleep out the speech?

"Watching porn isn't like doing coke fag"

    Burst myself laughing at that.

Cartman's black voice was priceless "call amblanse"

Ya know what. Im so utterly pissed off after watching that... I feel the urge to stick it to Islamists and their over sensative religion.

So at the risk of being banned.

Thought it was a great episode right up til all the beeps. The very ending was also ruined for me because I just watched that episode about an hour ago. :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

Not sure what to think of it - had its moments, but a let down after last week. Makes you think that they could have done it in one episode. Like others I thought the censored speech was a gag, disappointed to hear that it wasn't.

Also, as someone said above, the lack of an explanation about what happened Mecha Streisand was disappointing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,119 ✭✭✭Volvagia

    Thought it was ok.

Censoring really took away from it. There were some great lines, especially the coke vs porn, and the Semen saying "Come Swallow"

I also really like the character Moses.

Comedy central really pussied out and its stupid.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,571 ✭✭✭The Don

It was good enough. The censoring at the end took away from it as did not showing what happened to Mecha Streisand. The superbest friends were great. The seaman and swallow bit was excellent. Cartman vs Scott Tenorman was really well done. Hopefully Scott will be back again soon.

    I thought
they were going to send him to Big Gay Al's Big Gay Animal Sanctuary, but the actual ending was even better.

Re: bleeping, they do that in every episode by bleeping out curse words, why is that? Why can't they say **** and other curse words on the show? They are even bleeped out on the DVDs.

Personally, I find it more funny when the swear word is beeped.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

Oh I meant to say, I loved when Seaman said "Swallow, come!" And Moses said "Oh no way did he just say that"

I lol'd at that and Jesus calling Buddha a fag :pac:

The main problems were the episode sort of jumping around, in particular towards the end (Either right before or right after the bleeped speech) Where Scott Tenorman said "Goodbye Super Best Friends!" and it seemed to come from nowhere! Confused the hell out of me.

Before I start ranting, I'll just say that I actually enjoyed this episode, I thought it was very well done but obviously Comedy Central copped out big time, I can see why they did, I mean we all know that Islam is above criticism whether people are willing to admit it or not. Now - My Big Rant, First off I'm just going to say that I am not a racist and I actually have quite a few Muslim friends, so if you detect racist undertones please don't start calling me one.

I for one am sick and tired of these radical Muslim groups dictating how people should live their lives, they think that they are above the law (and to be honest they are), they have everyone scared sh!tless to cross them and if you ask me, they're nothing but bullies. I know how strict the Qur'an is but you can't just go around forcing your views on everybody else and then issuing death threats if they don't comply with your wishes. It disgusts me that these bullies have such a large influence in the world today, it's always been like that though, look at Salman Rushdie, look at Theo Van Gogh, these are classic examples of radical Muslim groups taking the law into their own hands, showing no regard for different cultures and actually taking action against people who actually had the courage to go against them. They issued a death warrant for Rushdie because he released the Satanic verses, luckily he somehow managed to escape their wrath but he could very well have been killed. Van Gogh was actually killed because he released that film about Muslim women, I have to ask - When will this all stop? For too long these groups have been forcing their views on everyone else, for too long they have been dictating what we can say or do, it's time to put a stop to this. South Park will rip on absolutely anyone, they have attacked basically every major religion, in 201 they had Budda snorting cocaine and made references about Jesus watching porn, they didn't see any reason to make an exception for Islam, I commend them for that, they had the balls to stand up and take on the bullies. But of course now they are receiving death threats, it's outrageous, we don't see death threats coming from Catholics because Jesus was shown and yet the Muslims are issuing them even though no image of Muhammad was actually shown!
Things have to change but to be honest I can't see it happening, everybody is too afraid to cross them

I thoroughly enjoyed 201. Sure it was probably just seeing so many references to previous eps but the mecha streisand ending could've been done better. The bleeping got really tiresome at the end. I really hope the south park guys can release the proper version online or at the very least, just the audio of the episode. I'm sure we'll get it at some point but hopefully before the DVD release! The SP guys must be really pissed at CC for bleeping their episode....seeing as they kept saying Muhammad last week....

So 201 wasn't aired here in Ireland?

How hysterically infuriating is it that

    • They can show Buddha snorting cocaine without having to worry about violent reprimand from followers of Buddhism.
    • They can show Jesus not only watching porn, but also previously going rambo on pedo priests, without having to worry about violent reprimand from followers of Christianity.
    • They can have Krishna morph into Neil Diamond to do a duet with mecha Steisand without having to worry about violent reprimand from followers of Hinduism.
    • They can regularly take the mickey out of Jewish people without fear of violent reprimand from Jewish people.
Yet they can't even ****ing show a simple IMAGE of Mohammed without receiving death threats. I'm sick of these muslim extremist *****.

We will probably have to wait for the DVD release.
Comedy Central UK haven't even aired the censored version yet! When it was supposed to air over here last Friday, they just ran a re-run of 14x01 Sexual Healing.

Yeah and it makes a mockery of their ads which say there is no need to find other means of looking at the show.

I watched this online. It was split into two parts. The first part was uncensored and Muhammad wasnt bleeped out. The second part had his name bleeped and obviously his image censored. Really enjoyed this episode but this really took away from it. I mean, the whole point of the episode was to point out how silly is to have someone that cannot be made fun of...and in the end, that was actually the case.

I would love to get my hands on an uncensored version.
