Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ok its in Auto Express ............ :pac:

While the 3-Series will keep its famous front-engined, rear-wheel-drive layout, hardly anything else will be traditional. Essentially one half of the firm’s new 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine, a new 1.5-litre three-cylinder unit  will be available in petrol and diesel form.
The diesel is set to return 75mpg and emit less than 100g/km of CO2

    Set for release early 2011

So what do we think ?

I think never believe anything in Autoexpress. On the old MINI2 forum, one of the graphic design heads photoshopped a new MINI, sent it in as a tip, and they published it as fact, and even made up figures to back it up.

This seems very hard to swallow, sounds like a load of tripe tbh. AutoExpress are the Sun of the motoring press which makes it seem even less credible. And how exactly would wifi work in a car? A completely independent entity that constantly moves from place to place? Surely what they're on about would require 3G

And sales starting in early 2011? I doubt it, introduced at a motor show at that stage maybe..

I have to agree on the whole auto express thing....

It not too far gone from the styling of the new 5 tho ... But maybe that's just it - easy for them to bodge an image together.. interesting to see If the engine line up checks out, small cc with high hp via a turbo. 3 cylinder tho c'mon ...

The engines are old news. 2 years ago we were reading about BMW Motorrad developing small capacity high power turbo engines for new MINIs and BMWs. High revving 3 cylinder engines with turbos developing up to 140Bhp, and higher revving 4 cylinder turbos developing up to 250Bhp.
