Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Peugeot 207 - Buy in Northern Ireland?

Hi - I'm new so please be gentle!!!

I live in Cork, and I'm thinking of buying a 207 1.4S. Looking at the prices and spec in Ireland, it seems very poor value. The spec is low, but the mileage and prices seem very high compared to the UK where I'm from.

I'm looking for a steer on the following:

    1. How do I go about doing this?
    2. Where is the best place to look? I would like to get to the closest place to the border from Cork, but my geography and knowledge of the North isn't the best!!
    3. I would like an HPI check done on the car. Should I do this or ask the dealer to arrange?
    4. Lastly - a long shot I know, but does anyone know what the likely VRT is on the car?

    Thanks guys! :D

1 year old ex rental ones were going for peanuts last year. spec is awful on them though as you said.

VRT will depend on what year it is.

Be aware that although it is a 1.4, it only has 75hp and takes just under 16 seconds to get to 100kmph, which is disgraceful.

08 onwards models are 302 to tax, older ones are 333.

If you're looking up NOrth a 207 HDI might be a better option. or something other than a 207.

VRT on an 07 will be around 1400, 08 around 1650
