Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Delayed coverage of the Barca game for the first half. Programme starts at 17.15

Absolute must win for them, and couldnt see any other result than a 3 or 4 nil Barca romp. Steadying the ship is needed before the return leg..

Barca will be forced to work hard for the win against Xerez!
Barcelona will take control in the later stages to win 4-1

Did mis-hear Gerry Armstrong say that Barca paid 25m for him?? That can't be the case?!!

No Messi on the field = dodgy Barcelona

Rofl are you for real? There was a complete lack of control all over the field, hardly solely down to Messi's absence.

Anyway, Toure and Zlatan were immense today. Barca didn't look to be able to neuter Xerez at all, and until Zlatan's goal they had a belief about them that was worrying. Anyway, Toure with some of the performances he's put in over the past few weeks deserves Keita's CMF spot. Keita hasn't been as impervious as he was at the start of the season, and Toure is proving his worth in both attack and defense. Ibrahimovic was excellent too, he looked confident today, going for the killer pass nearly every occasion he could, I'm impressed by him more and more.

I missed this, with the Arsenal game, but looks like the ref was busy:

    Barcelona

    Bookings:
    Bojan (78)

    Jeffren (14)
    Henry (24)
    Ibrahimovic (56)

    3-1
    (HT 2-1)

    Xerez

    Castaneda Mario Bermejo (26)

    Bookings:
    Artiles Aythami (16)
    Victor Sanchez (28)
    Orellana (71)
    Renan (82)
    Castaneda Mario Bermejo (83)
    Vicente Moreno (88)
    Leandro Gioda (90+2)

    Sent off:
    Alustiza (90+1)
    Orellana (90+2)
    :P

    Atletico won 3-1.

Can't believe Mallorca only managed a draw at home to Malaga.

Me neither. Although Wolfsburg had already ruined my accumulator.

I know I usually stay well away form it, dunno what drove me to that today.

It's all gone Pete Tong after a week of brilliant betting returns.

Atletico/Roma/Sevilla in a treble is my last hope this weekend

    Bilbao mess up.

Toquero should have won it at the death.

The can likely kiss goodbye to whatever hopes they had for fourth.

    Bugger.

Does anyone know whether the construction of their new stadium is going ahead?

I saw the plans when i visited the stadium on a non-match day about 3 years ago.
