Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Apologies to Pete for nicking his image, but here's my poll on it.

Is this a colour image, a monotone image or a black and white image?

    Copyright!!!!!!!.....lawyers notified already..... :P

    You forgot one option....colour mono.....

EDIT: plus my image you posted doesn't compare in colour/contrast to what I posted. Your post is far mode faded/flat/desaturated than the original

    Agree..

To a Pleb like myself it means.. the predominance of one colour (tone) in an image.

This image does not have that i.e lots of blue and black ( and small bits of others, irrelevant though), so it's not in my opinion a monotone.

But, I know nought about this stuff, so educate me !

The fact my image has been illegally downloaded, then uploaded and used for the purpose of a poll and deemed fit to have its own thread means more to me than anything I could have ever hoped for :D

It's a winner in every right for that alone. I've got special brushes for sale on adverts.ie ruffled feathers, or email for a special discount price ;)

Blue is blue.... a black and white image has LOTS of shades of grey in it. ;)

Blue and green are right next to each other in the spectrum and turquoise sits right about there between them.

    Where green = blue....you decide?
6 of one, half a dozen of the other. It's getting boring at this stage pointing out facts.

If you chose, you could say it is a shade of blue, or if you chose, you could say it a shade of green, neither is right or wrong.

When does orange become yellow, blue become purple, photography discussions become boring..... :(

Lets just agree to disagree and move on. Still friends I hope? :)

And there you have it. It was boring to be begin with. I just decided to wind the winder ... :D

Personally don't mind if your image is allowed or not.

And I have always thought that monochromatic picture is composed of one colour that is mixed with shades of gray from 0% (=white) to 100% (=black).

Pete, I love the photo and for me, it is monochromatic picture.

Uh, guys it's a colour image. If it was monochrome then it would be the same hue with different saturation and brightness. In this case the sky is about h:221 and the water about h:198ish

    A handy visual aid:

    pwned.jpg

If it was a B&W image then it would have 0 saturation.

    Sorted.

Hahaha. This is hilarious. The amount of effort and time people have put into this is incredible!

And to think I was called restrictive on the assignment topic I set!?

    Oh the irony...so amusing ;)
