Firstly let me say I am totally clueless when it comes to the following and I would appreciate any advice or information anyone can give me.

I am looking to study to become a Social Worker, I did not do my leaving cert which I understand I will have to complete but can anyone tell me where to start with all of this.

I am 38 years old, single parent, unemployed and living in Clane Co Kildare so I would be classed as a mature student.
But can someone please tell me where do I apply to return to do my leaving and will I incur costs etc...

As I said I would appreciate any help and information with this, thanks in advance. :)

If you want to study yourself at home, just contact the SEC through http://www.examinations.ie after September or so. If you're on a medical card there will be no exam fee.

If you want to follow a course with other adults, contact your local VEC - if they do not have an adult course, contact Pearse College (City of Dublin VEC) in Dublin who specialise in adults returning to education and will be able to advise you.

Thanks for that it is much appreciated, I have emailed the SEC and am just awaiting a reply. :)
