Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone got any tips on restuarants and things to do. Me and Girlfriend (Both mid 20's) going there next week staying in the Tivoli Marina.

Hopefully the weather is good, not too bothered about nightlife more interested in things like waterparks, snorkeling etc any tips at all appreciated!

Just head down around the Marina area. Plenty of restaurants and boats/companies offering watersports.

Not in Vilamoura, but in Bouliqueime, set amongst orange groves in the hills, so you'll have to get a taxi there (€12-€15 each way), but I would recommend it. Van Gogh Restaurant http://www.eating-out.co.pt/member_details-MemberID-43.html You'll need to book in advance. The hotel will do it for you.

I can't remember the names of restaurants we went to, but we did find a lot of the better ones were off the Marina, up side streets etc. But, there was a restaurant beside Luis Figo's bar, that has/had the nicest garlic bread base with cheese.

In Quateira, 10-15 min walk along the sea-front from Vilamoura, is Fernando's Hideaway. Supposed to be fab for fish & meat dishes. Don't be put off by the outside :D

Re. Things to do, you can get a local bus to the neighbouring resorts (Albufeira Old Town is 15 mins away). Beware of the 1/2 day organised tour bus to Lagos/Silves & Cape St. Vincent. It's not a 1/2 day, it's a full days trip, made all the worse by being stuck infront of Jack & Vera duckworth  A long, long bus journey! They were lovely places to see, but it was a very long day that we weren't expecting. Felt like we were on a school tour, but without the craic!

You could take the bus to Monchique - a village in the mountains, that's supposed to be very pretty.

There's an aqua park and zoo marine in Guia - which is probably 25 mins away.

A nice bar, is Pacifico, it's behind the marina, set in a courtyard. Aurelio the owner, is a lovely guy. There's a nice restaurant beside it called Concorde too.

The Tivoli hotel is lovely, right on the beach & marina. João, one of the barmen, is a really nice friendly guy. He'll recommend some restaurants for you. Enjoy!

Hi, Old thread I know but looking for some advice.
What do people think of Villamoura as an area? Is it similar to Albufiera or nicer?
Family holiday of 2 adults and 2 kids. Have a nice resort/aparthotel identified on the outskirts so just looking for peoples opinions on the area itself for restaurants/activities etc...

    Thanks
