Not sure where you're flying from. I usually go from Belfast and costs usually about £50 each. Tickets start at about £50 but those ones sell out in a flash via the touts.

Why dont you check out flights yourself, try ryanair, aerlingus or skyscanner to find flights. Good luck

UFC 122, in Germany. That Card (120) is woeful except the Hathaway and Hardy fights. UFC 122 according to Junkie is going to be a PPV and the rumor is that Anderson Silva is fighting Vitor Belfort for the title should he beat Sonnen easily or suffer minor damage in the fight. The EXPO apparently is awful from what I'm hearing.

I have been looking and Germany looks a good proposition instead of going to London if you are willing to but up with a little extra travel.
    Flights to Dussledorf: €84
Train to Oberhausen (bout 20 miles) : €20
Hotel (close to arena) : €35 (if you share room)

I was planning on going to London but now after seeing the card think I will hold out for Germany. Denis Siver (was excellent last time I saw him at 93) will deffo fight and there are rumours about Belfort fighting aswell.

Can anyone who was at the last German event give a rough idea of ticket prices ??

Where did you get flights for €84? What dates and airline?

Can't see a title fight in Germany but I hope I am wrong, and let me tell you the fan expo at UFC 100 was far from awful, it's a great event for any MMA fan but I would pay the extra money and get the VIP tickets.

What I heard the Expo queing times where very long, you only got autographs by the fighters, pictures weren't allowed at the booths. Some people have said to me, if I was going just to get a regular ticket and not go any fighter booths because the fighters are floating around. Also how many fighters are actually going to come over to the UK for the expo aswell.

Can't see a lot of fighters at the UK expo (a prat from the UK guys) ques were crazy at the UFC 100 expo but with the VIP tickets there was like only a 2min. que if any (it was great) you were not allowed to take pictures with the fighters but a lot of them are more then happy to do if you ask. There was a lot of non UFC fighters walking around the expo (it was great) fighters are just all over the place in Vegas. Met lots of them walking around the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino even a very drunk Joe Stevenson (what a funny guy) can't drink for **** bless him.

Exactly, 95 was the perfect example. Horrible card, one of the best events of the year.

I was at the 100 Expo and it depends what you're after. If you can afford VIP tickets, great and you'll have a blast, 2 minutes in line. It does suck that you can't get pictures with fighters, especially since the reason given is to cut time when in fact it wouldn't really add much time at all.

Go to the Expo, sack the queues, just wander about and keep your eyes open. I only stood in 1 line at 100, it lasted about 5 hours and I got autographs from Florian, Sanchez, Jardine and a few others (whoop-de-doo). From just walking around the expo booths and the hotel I got pictures with Hazelett, Pulver, Marquardt, Uno, Shogun, Davis and a few others.

Marcus Davis spotted me in my "Team Irish" shirt and came to say hello to me before I even noticed him. Last week at 116 I was wearing a Silver Star Guida shirt and he spotted me too, called me over and signed the back of the shirt!

That was lucky, on paper it was a weak card, just lucky that the fights turned out to be awesome.

Whatever happened to the same cards as U.S? The title fights?

Marshal Zelaznik's Facebook page has been inundated with complaints about the card, here's his response...

OK Folks: I see the comments. Were you all the ones who complained about UFC 95? Hmm... how did that night of fights turn out :)

So basically he's hoping that they luck out and all the fights are awesome again, totally ignoring that fact that yet again they're wheeling Mike Bisping out as a headliner and fillin the card up with Brits.

That to me is an awful response from the UK's head of UFC, he should listen to the fans concerns and try and do something about them.

Crappy response for sure. To be honest I'd rather have a good headliner between Stevenson and Sanchez than 112's main event but it's not the point. There is no doubt that the Europeans get crappier cards and the next time DW, Zelaznik or anyone else in power does a QnA I'll ask again!

The abuse given to that card before it took place was amazing. People even attending the card were calling it all sorts of names, IE UFN 95

Dana's after 112 were disgraceful. He literally abused fans on Twitter, that went on his twitter and said what felt about that card.

Dana will go on with the same old bullshít, he says at every Q&A.

Fan from North Dakota; Dana when are you coming to North Dakota.
Dana; We WILL be in North Dakota soon

Fan from Ireland; Dana when are you coming back to Ireland.
Dana; We WILL be back in Ireland soon, I promise you.

    Aye I know.

When are you coming to Sweden/Mexico/Italy/Wherever?

    We're coming everywhere man.

I'd be more interested in pulling DW or MZ up on the obviously broken promises like the return to Ireland or the quality of cards.

No, didn't see any either! I was just walking through the MB, near the restaurants beside the casino and heard "hey nice shirt". Looked back and it was Davis.

It's the official "Team Irish" shirt from his website, which I have since left behind on honeymoon in Mauritius...

I had intended to go see this event, its only like €30 return flights from Kerry Airport to Luton and a 40 min £20 train into the centre. I had made jokes about Bisping being the main event and can you imagine if they tried to sell that headline fight to the fans in the UK, considering he is only on a 1 fight winning streak but then I check the websites and there it is Bisping vs Akiyama as the main event, one fighter coming off a loss and Bisping (who i hate for obvious reasons). It makes me sick that Dana White would sell this kind of card to the fans in Europe, and Carlos Condit vs Dan Hardy as a co-main event. The "fans" here who settle with this card and are happy with this card are delusional! I hear people saying "we should be happy that the UFC comes to the UK at all", and "just because it isnt big names doesnt mean the fights wont be good", if you dont want to get value for your money then you can watch good fights anywhere! Why cant we have Machida, Forrest or Rampage fighting, Cro Cop vs Ben Rothwell, Martin Kampmann vs John Hathaway, Todd Duffee vs Gilbert Yvel, so many better matchups!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,460 ✭✭✭✭DrPhilG

It really shows the UFC's lack of connection with the UK fans. They still think that Bisping is hero worshipped, because he was the first big UK star. Except even the British aren't fussed on Bisping, and even less now that he's being rammed down their throats at every opportunity.

I mean realistically, Hardy vs Condit is a better fight than Bisping vs Akiyama. At least those 2 are in the title mix, wheras neither Bisping nor Akiyama will be getting a title shot soon.

After seeing 2 Britfest cards and disappointed with the line ups. I have come to the conclusion that it is better saving up and going to the US for a card. I've done this for the last two I went to UFC100 and UFC111 and thoroughly enjoyed both. Hate Bisping with a passion but like Hardy and Hathaway. Hathaway and Stun Gun although an intriguing fight is not one I'm interested in seeing.
O2 in London is such an excellent venue and a great card would create some atmosphere.

Is that Hathaway with a new opponent?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 767 ✭✭✭Odats

Mike Pyle coach at Xtreme Couture, Hathaway lose lose situation. Will be expected to win but if he loses will set him back alot. Knew the UFC were saving Kampmann for Shields on the card as co main event for Cain vs Brock.

Does anyone know if the fightclub or newsletter presale actually gets you better seats than the general sale (obviously within the same price bracket)?

I know when the O2 Dublin have a presale it only guarantees you get your tickets before general sale, not better seats necessarily. For a gig there recently I had worse seats than a friend of mine, even though I got my tickets on presale and he didn't (and we both paid the same price for tickets).

In my experience not... they seem to open up the venues section by section so you have as much chance with general sale as you do with pre-sale... Personally I find the 100-125 tkts the best value. I hate ringside at UFC.. you can see F all... somewhere in 10-20 rows up the tiers are best for me

Just wondering, does anybody know what the 50pound tickets are like? Like has anyone been to 02 in london before?
Reason I ask is I'm almost certain ill be there but not 100% yet so dont wana have the risk of loosing alot if I can't go.

I've also heard from mates who went to the Irish one that the closer you are to octagon the less you see cos of the cameras and all that?

Ive been to 5 UFC events and ive learned the hard what so now i always go on the lower tiers... about 10-20 rows up from ground level I find is best... 50 pound seats will be in the gods and the O2 is huge... if you wanna watch on the big screen go wtih these but if you want to see get lower tier...110 ones

Definitely right that the 15 rows back ones are the best in the house. I've sat everywhere fro the cheap seats to front row at the events I've been to and the best seats I ever had were Birmingham for 89, 12 rows back, side on to the cage.

However if you're on a budget, and you're lucky, the front 2 rows of the upper tier side on are also excellent and will cost £50-£75. You're very high but you are almost looking down into the cage rather than through the side. I've not been there myself but a few friends always try for them as they swear by them.
