Confused about 4th year?????

i have been told fourth year is a really good year, filled with stuff to do. but on the other hand i have been told its a waste of time and that you are better off going on into 5th year. but at the moment, i think it would be a good idea to do it because 6 years in school is a year less you are looking for a job!
