Steve done so well to win the the last two frames tonight to make it 12-4 and salvaged a lot of pride not be beat with a session to spare. How and ever, I havent got a clue how Neil missed that red in the middle to win 13-2.

How lucky was Ronnie to not be behind after that dire first session for him. Mark must have been furious not to make the most of it.

As they stand (or sleep) overnight:

Steve Davis (Eng) 4-12 Neil Robertson (Aus)
    30-83, 24-96 (92), 14-92 (63), 47-75 (57), 67-41, 12-65, 0-89 (89), 25-84 (53), 14-85 (53), 54-65, 128-1 (128), 54-70, 0-92 (92), 26-84, 65-64 61-38

Graeme Dott (Sco) 8-8 Mark Allen (NI)

    1-99 (66), 0-75, 41-73 (58), 29-67 (54), 76-0 (76), 69-45, 67-33, 0-105 (100), 44-66, 57-1, 74-8 (74), 2-68, 136-7 (116), 116-13 (85), 91-21 (67), 20-78 (67)

Allister Carter (Eng) 3-5 Shaun Murphy (Eng)
    41-75 (70), 51-62, 82-23 (51), 63-53, 24-74, 19-100, 41-83, 72-47

Mark Selby (Eng) 4-4 Ronnie O'Sullivan (Eng)
    24-70, 92-17 (84), 82-0, 7-69, 90-16 (90), 1-67 (67), 65-63, 6-81 (81)

Dott is 21/20 in betting in running to win the match. Think its a great price

Commentator said Ronnie had some falling out with the Ref today... Anyone know what happened?

Yeh ref called a touching ball after a safety by Ronnie, Ronnie questioned it and said it wasn't touching, the ref stood his ground which of course he was entitled to do as his ruling counts. The commentators mentioned that sometimes the balls will settle more after each shot and even Parrott mentioned that the floor in the cruicble is sprung and that this happens occasionally.
Nonetheless Ronnie kept making remarks and shaking his head and at one point told the ref he needed his eyes tested!
He was lucky he didn't get a warning after the frame to be honest.

Well played Mark, touched 13.5 in running. Won 8 of last 10 frames?

Well done Mark, fully deserved. I'm delighted for him.

Ronnie needs to knuckle down and make some changes for next season, starting with his attitude wouldn't be a bad idea.

Doubt his attitude will change at this stage :D
We'll hardly see him plugging away a Davis' age ;)

It boils down to the simple fact lads that Mark Selby wanted it more, when's the last time you saw Ronnie clench the fist after winning a match/frame?
Talent alone won't win you tournaments, if Ronnie had a fraction of the desire that Davis showed this week he'd be preparing for his semi final against Dott.

But you can't take it away from Selby, he is one hell of a match player and has shown great bottle.

Hmmm, anyone think there may have been a hint of a push shot/double hit from Shaun Marphy there when he played the red and ploughed the cueball through the bunch...?

I would love to see the slow-mo of that shot.

    Wasn't watching at that point.

Carter just handed Murphy the semi-final place and Murphy didn't want it.

Gotta say Shaun was unlucky with that yellow, but very well done to Ali. His back was to the wall and he played a cracker.

That's why Ronnie was a bigger price than you'd expect, you take the chance when you back the him that his head is 100%.

Great night for me, backed 3 players each way before the start of the tournament, Selby 50 e/w at 9/1, Ding and Carter both 10er e/w at 10/1 and 28/1 respectively.. Ever since Carter's 147 I've had a feeling he'd be going places.. Selby vs Carter final pretty please!!

Great quarter finals in fairness, Robertson was the only one to get the job done from the front. Apart from Davis all the losers will feel they left it behind. So it's Dott or a first time champion. Amazingly the only man to have done it before is the outsider.

All have been big prices at some stage

    Lastest betting

    Selby 11/10 (40/1 when 9-5 down to O,Sullivan
Robertson 100/30 (80/1 when 11-5 down to Gould)
    Carter 5/1 (60/1
    Dott 6/1 (over 300/1 pre-tournament)
