Jimmy, you clearly know your Nokias and I'm sure we all enjoy reading your posts ... but you've got to give your readers some sugar from the punctuation point of view.

We're not asking for much - full stops will do if at all possible.

    I thank you.

You'll just lose all your settings with a factory reset....data and apps shouldn't be affected!

One question at a time man, its been a long week ;)

Yes the backup will include the mass memory files, and text messages will reappear after the restore.

The hard reset wont do much for you in this case imho. I would focusing more on the software reinstall

And still didn't solve it after a reboot?

Their used to be a problem with this, when you hit X amount (around a thousand from memory) you wouldn't get the notification anymore. Deleting and power cycle would resolve it, I thought it had been over come though, didnt expect to see it happening again

Jesus thats poor. I havent had anything like that, the turning control is spot on. Have had one or resets alrite but think thats about it.

One thing about the notifications that i forgot to mention which might catch people out, if you put on the notification widget on the homescreen, you wont get the normal pop up notifications we are used too.

Could somebody help me here please? I have been using the N8 since November and love it but have encountered a problem over the weekend. When using predictive text to send a message, the letters I type don't match what appears. For example, I have just typed HELP and got "TRYI" "Boards" comes up as "EU." I just noticed that the first letter on each "key" is irrelvant to what is there. Here is the full list

    • ABC - E
      DEF - R
      GHI - T
      JKL - Y
      MNO - U
      PQRS - I
      TUV - O
      WXYZ - P
