Any of the other nationals who are living in Ireland are here for mostly one reason thats to earn as much as they possibly can and send it all back to another country.
I don't see anything wrong with that - it seems sensible to me, and it's what many of our ancestors/relatives did.

Everyone that votes who they want sent home will be added to a Racist database.

The Government will then call on you too remove two non-nationals from their beds and escort them to the airport.

I clicked Asians, as Africans are usually built like **** brick houses.

Course, Asians are all Ninjas, so I'm snaffered either way.

    Who you got?

I'd be just happy with sending a current lot of TD's home again and never to come back!
At least that would be a good start.

.hmm i remember a picture my history teacher showed me which was taken in america ages ages ago on a B&B "No Black's, No Dogs, No Irish"

That was more than likely in the UK rather than the US.

its a hypocritical to say this knowing that millions of irish immigrated to america and around the world during the famine to take other peoples job in other countries...hmm i remember a picture my history teacher showed me which was taken in america ages ages ago on a B&B "No Black's, No Dogs, No Irish"

Most the Irish who went to america more then likely stayed there for the rest of there lives and helped to add to the country. I dont see any problem with people moving somewhere else if they want to make a life for them selfs in that country. Not just to sponge the place dry until things get better at home.

well the ones that are still on the the welfare since the start of the boom should be kicked up the arse and kicked outside the border :)

Most have no interest in being part of this country there here to make as much money as possible. There only here cause we opened the gates and said sure everyone come on in. If it had of been done right in first place like for example what they do in Australia then there be no problems.

There are problems because its a bloody free for all which is typical of everything in this lovely country were from.

Where I work (factory) foreign nationals count for 60%-70% of the workforce. I'm actually in the minority. They're been put into highly skilled positions without qualifications. There's a lot of double standards going on, as in if I made a mistake there's a big deal made of it but if one of them did something it's a different story. I have absolutely no resentment towards any of them because they are brilliant workers (a lot better than me :-)), ambitious and a sound lot. The women are absolutely gorgeous and make me blush all the time :D. No Irish people in the town wanted the jobs in the good times so they advertised in eastern Europe. So tough sh1t to them if they think they took their jubs :)

no i think its the fact that every idiot was allowed to set up his own company and employ every single polish fella that didnt even have a clue how to build...so they said to their friends in the poland come over here and you can do a job without even needing to know how to do it lol...so every one came along! if proper regulations were set in place for hiring and setting up companies these things wouldnt have happened!

All they had to do was monitor everything the right way in the first place if other countrys can do it why cant Ireland?

Now we have to many people and not enough jobs.

I think you will find that a lot of Irish familes relied in the same method years and years back when the father of a family would be sent to england to where the work was and he would probably have been sending home at least half of his paypacket back home...

It always happens when an devolped country has plenty of work people from all over the world who have no jobs will move to make some money and if the send it home well they are only looking after their family's!!

The xenophopia in this thread is unreal!!! as per usual

  • Registered Users Posts: 228 ✭✭Goldenquick

Well fair enough then if she was but theres less chance of you seeing any australian people moving to this country sure why would they?

Any of the other nationals who are living in Ireland are here for mostly one reason thats to earn as much as they possibly can and send it all back to another country. Now in all fairness id rather a couple of people from oz coming over and stayin for maybe year or two working puttin the money back into the country then they probley head home.

Oops my husband's parents did that too, I wonder if the English were saying the same thing about us then, oh wait, my brother did it too in America..........I rest my case. :P

P.S. Perhaps people should look to the history of the Irish people before they start maligning other nations for coming here for work.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,178 ✭✭✭✭NothingMan

I didn't on who I'd actually want to send home but who has actually taken jobs in here when Irish interviewed for them. 1 was African but was let go in our first tough year. 2 are polish. 1 is a grumpy sh1t and can be hard to get him to do something and the other is pleasant and a great worker.

Both started here with very little english, now they both have perfect english. 1 even teaches a course on one of our products. I have no problem with them at all. I have 1 Irish friend who hasn't had a job in 3 years and even then it was on and off. He doesn't look and doesn't want a job. He's happy to live at home, paying no bills, get his dole (more expendable cash than I have) and tell everyone he's a writer. That pisses me off more than any foreigners who want to work.

Its always same things in these threads Oh the Irish did that to everyone did the same thing!!

There was a famine in this country the country was ****ed the world was a totally different place back then.
What choice did most Irish people have other then to try and move somewhere better and make a life for ourselfs.

Is Poland ****ed right now?? no its not same goes for all other countrys where people who moved here are from.
There well able to swan off back on hols to see there familys well why not just maybe stay there?

To survive did they need to come over here and work say two jobs spend very little money and give very little back to Ireland and all live in same flat with bout ten of there mates ??

What good did that do for Ireland really at end the day.
We are and were just a drop in center for the lower parts of europe and other parts of world i mean how many other countrys would of been stupid enough to just allow so many other nationals just walk into there country and monitor nothing give them money houses cars and so on and just let them do what they liked to a certain degree.

And to person who said why didnt i monitor them coming how ffs would i of been able to  and yes i did give a ****e couple years ago when i saw Ireland become a refugee camp for every other bloody nation that had problems.

End day i have no problem at all with any people who want to move to Ireland and make a proper life of them selfs and who want to contribute to THIS country. Where all allowed that we all should have a chance of doing things fair.

But its done arse ways from the start here and its just taken advantage of theres no need for it.
Most of them dont even want to get along with Irish people learn decent English just take take take as much as possible then **** off back home when they have enough and were left in the ****.

Sorry but we did not do that to America.

Its always same things in these threads Oh the Irish did that to everyone did the same thing!!

As the Irish did, we cannot distance ourselves from our history.
There was a famine in this country the country was ****ed the world was a totally different place back then.
What choice did most Irish people have other then to try and move somewhere better and make a life for ourselfs.]

There was no famine in Ireland in the 80's, but there was a recession which is when most of my generation emigrated to look for better lives, jobs of which there was a severe shortage of in Ireland, make money in another country, send some home to families & to banks here to save for houses, came home on holidays to see their families, eventually some of them settling back here when times were better.
Is Poland ****ed right now?? no its not same goes for all other countrys where people who moved here are from.
There well able to swan off back on hols to see there familys well why not just maybe stay there?

    Answered above.
To survive did they need to come over here and work say two jobs spend very little money and give very little back to Ireland and all live in same flat with bout ten of there mates ??

    Generalisation.
What good did that do for Ireland really at end the day.

They work in jobs that the Irish are too lazy to work at. Plus they bring a professionalism & new skills to Ireland that was never here. Builders here have actually said they are learning from them and the way that they work.

We are and were just a drop in center for the lower parts of europe and other parts of world i mean how many other countrys would of been stupid enough to just allow so many other nationals just walk into there country and monitor nothing give them money houses cars and so on and just let them do what they liked to a certain degree.

If there is money, houses and cars going free I want some too! Let me know who gives all that out please.
And to person who said why didnt i monitor them coming how ffs would i of been able to  and yes i did give a ****e couple years ago when i saw Ireland become a refugee camp for every other bloody nation that had problems.

Refugees have a different status to foreign workers.
End day i have no problem at all with any people who want to move to Ireland and make a proper life of them selfs and who want to contribute to THIS country. Where all allowed that we all should have a chance of doing things fair.

Where do you think these people buy their food from, how do they travel to work, who do they pay rent to?
But its done arse ways from the start here and its just taken advantage of theres no need for it.
Most of them dont even want to get along with Irish people learn decent English just take take take as much as possible then **** off back home when they have enough and were left in the ****.

Does everyone here really try to get on with them or just prejudge them as getting everything for free and taking all our jobs.
Sorry but we did not do that to America.

There are currently an estimated 50000 Irish illegal immigrants in America. http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-op-rodriguez8apr08,0,1081193.column (Sorry for shouting, yes I was trying to get a point across because I hate to see this denied and introverted points of view)
