Just found out that Riverfest is on this weekend.
Anyone know details or where to find details on Web.
I googled Riverfest and got the Limerick Co-ordination's web site which is only asking for people to compete in BBQ, no programme of events on there.

Haven't seen much either. Apparently press packs etc have gone out. Would love to have a goo at what's happening.

Saw a LOT of street cleaning trucks out this morning on my walk to work from Bellefield Gardens getting the place ready for it... Hope they get rid of most of the dog turds and broken glass on Sarsfield bridge!

Clearly no budget for web design this year. Glad the info is up and all. But that website... *shudder*

    and here's a PDF of the programme - http://www.limerickcoordination.ie/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/riverfest-brochure-website1.pdf

    Thanks for that Froodie.

    This is the part that would interest me;

Enjoy Riverfest with some of Limerick’s top musicians who will perform lunchtime concerts in the city’s leafy parks throughout May as part of the May Music in the Park series. The event, organised by Limerick City Council will see jazz band Idol Bones play in Arthur’s Quay Park and the Irish Chamber Orchestra entertain in the award winning People’s Park on May 1st.

There are however no details of the music being played 'throughout May'.

I imagine this evenings Limerick Post and subsequent issues of the Limerick Leader will be packed with information, however, a national media campaign would have been helpful rather like Corks Jazz Festival, or the Dublin Food Festival.

You can nearly hear those adverts on Donegal radio stations.

Does anyone know if there are any road closures in effect this evening?
Is that French market on all weekend? I saw them setting up around the Granary this morning and I'll have to do a job around in that area this evening and tomorrow morning?

Hmmmm I'll have to figure something out so. Don't fancy having to lug all my gear with me if I can't drive up there.

I wonder if the French Market is as over-priced as ever?

yup its extremly over priced my friend:D

but to be fair its only a once a year thing so might as well just live it up for the riverfest weekend.

yea its def there all weekend. maybe you could put back the job til tuesday or next weekend unless its something that really needs to be done this week. in that case you might be able to get the car/van close to it by parking it in the one of the alleyways just to the side of where the french market is(forget the name of the street)

Well there's this quite good layout on the Co-Ordination Office website
    http://www.limerickcoordination.ie/category/riverfest

and a pdf brochure also available on the same site
    http://www.limerickcoordination.ie/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/riverfest-brochure-website1.pdf

or there's this complete pile of sh1te
    http://www.festivalslimerick.com/
whoever did that "website" should hang their head in shame. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with Riverfest as the phone number on it is also the same for the "ice rink". It's obviously someone trying to steal a march on the event by putting up their own site.

I love Riverfest it brings so many photo opportunities into the City.

I was down at the Continental Market today. Nice selection of stuff any yes its a bit pricy but not over the top as it has been in past years. Stay away if you are trying to loose weight though cos there are some amazing sweet things for sale - Fudge as far as the eye can see!

And lots of nice french and Continental Food to try.
