Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

OK but not to be confused with frame manufacturer though.
I think a table showing country of origin of Branded Wholesaler and associated Frame manufacturer would be more informative but I can't contribute there.

Not really true, it depends on the frame. AFAIK the steel ones are 100% made in the UK and some of the Ti ones too. The Ti head tubes for integrated headsets are made in the far east, but the non-integrated ones are in house.

Mine is being made 100% inhouse in the UK as far as I can tell.

It doesn't matter where the darn bike is actually made up, if it's designed in Italy and tested in Italy, it's Italian. Just because they outsource to places that are cheaper and have proven expertise in carbon assembly, doesn't mean anything.

Yes, I would pay more for a Colnago CLX rather than a "midnight run" of another carbon frame from the same plant. I'm a badge snob.

It does, if your frame was built in Carlow! I don't know whether i should be proud or a little nervous everytime i get on my Trek frame... haha

Does it really matter or make much difference?

Scott is technically Swiss because they relocated their headquarters there but they are historically an American company. Bikes come from Asia.

Specialized still has its HQ in the US but is half-owned by a Taiwanese company and makes all its bikes there.

The treks were only assembled in Carlow (no longer :( ), it was a good set up, I was in the factory a couple of times. + they used to set up Lance Armstrongs bikes...

I think some Looks are still made in France and higher-end Colnagos still made in Italy.

Most bikes are indeed made in Asia.
