Could not get Flight from Dublin so iam Going up to Knock!

Getting the Train tomorrow morning from Portarlington at 8.10

What Station Would be the Rest to get off In?

    Ballyhaunis or Claremorris?

Would I Be Able to Get any Local Bus Service From the Stations?

or If No any Idea what a Cab would cost

    Many Thanks

You could ring a local taxi in Claremorris Goggins (Martin) and ask for a price before you go
http://www.irishrail.ie/your_journey/your_station.asp?letter=C&action=showdetail&station_id=37 This has a list of taxis I dont know any others apart from Goggins'

You could try ringing the railway station they may know more. Knock Airport is between Kilkelly and Charlestown (so you can have an idea of journey time) its not in Knock!!

The bus at 1138 from Claremorris should leave you at Ireland West Airport at 12.15 with plenty time for your flight. Taxi would be about €40. All the info on the airport site:

    Hi midmadman,

The cheapest option is as described by yop and get off on train in Claremorris and get the bus. Claremorris is 32km (30mins) away from airport (€40.00 if you book one of the licenced airport taxis, see webpage on airport site - http://www.irelandwestairport.com/toandfromairport/by_taxi.aspx ). Ballyhaunis is nearer the airport, about 20mins or less. You could try ringing any of the taxis on that list to get a price from there).

Don't forget that there is a €10 development fee payable when you depart from the airport. You pay this just before security or in the newsagents or restaurant there.
