    Hi,

I currently have a nVidia Geforce 8800gtx, and need to upgrade to amplify graphics on BattleField 2 Bad Company.

100 quid is my budget, but exceptions to superiority, would push that to 130 max.

    Any ideas?

If your monitor maxes out under 1080p (i.e. 1680*1050 or less) grab a HD5750 off Pixmania for €95. OC to taste.

If your monitor is around 1080p (i.e. 1920*1080-ish) then it might just be worth your while upping the budget to €130+ to get a HD5770 1GB. If you can't manage that, get a 1GB version of the HD5750 (€115+) and OC its legs off ;)

i wouldnt get the 5750 coming from an 8800GTX and for Bad Company 2, most definately go for the 5770, if you have plenty of power in your psu you could use the 8800GTX for physx( power hungry though )

Sell the 8800GTX for around €70 if you're lucky.

    Get a GTX260 (€160-200) or a HD4870 if you can find one.

    Sorted.

They're no better than the HD5770 1GB though...

If you're serious, sell the 8800GTX as said and use your €150-200 to get something better... there's a big price gap past the €130+ HD5770 though :(

Best bet would be a HD4890 if you have a decent PSU and could still find one out there for under €200. Past that you're looking at a GTX275 or HD5830 for the same performance as the HD4890 but even more expensive :(
