    Could someone help me with an equation. I have V=220 and A= 16. How do I calculate my power requirement for an AC and DC source?

    Power= Volts times Amps
    220V x 16A =3520 Watts or 3.5KW DC

    On an AC circuit loads are expressed as KVA with a PF (power factor)
    As long as the load is a resistance, on AC it would be the same ie 3.5KVA

    Bear in mind things like motors and incandescent lamps take a surge of power when they are switched on.
